I said "true" passion, Anne. Not "exaggerated feelings fuelled by other substances". The substance I am talking about is a truely held belief and desire to communicate that belief to others, which isn't always easy and, I agree, can be delivered inappropriately at times.

Using Dna To Catch People Who Don't Clean Up After Their Dogs
Loving my Oldies replied to sandgrubber's topic in In The News
As I said, you don't stop doing one thing because there are problems elsewhere that are desperate for funding or attention. Just imagine the benefits of extra people being employed to collect and analyse, the extra training laboratory people will be gaining. Often scientific (and other) advancements are made because analists and scientists were researching something else. You have to look at the wider ramifications: you can't look at just what something might cost. You have to exercise your mental faculties and look further. We also have to stop looking at everything from and economic point of view. We are not an economy (but if you listen to politicians you would doubt it); we are a society, a community. -
Using Dna To Catch People Who Don't Clean Up After Their Dogs

You don't stop trying to fix one problem because there are other issues to be dealt with. Too true, and for all sorts of other irresponsible acts and lack of consideration for others. Because they don't care. I'm happy for them to be scared into it. Me too - LOL. Taperfund, have you ever stepped in dog poo? It isn't such a little issue then. It's goddamn disgusting. Have you even been tidying the gardens on the footpath and put your hand into a big dump left by some inconsiderate dog owner. :D -
Bella was lucky to have an opera singer for a mother - big lung capacity. Well done Jessica.

Tumbleweeds at the end of the week? How lucky are you LOL. My latest toy is a battery powered upright vacuum cleaner which I can whip out virtually daily AND STILL THEY COME Frankly, I think just about everything comes with a "but". Yesterday, I happily "fenced" off a large section of my lawn with that plastic roll out lattice so I could top dress and get the grass growing again. And then it hit me: how do I get the dogs out for their walks? So now we have to exit via the front door otherwise I have to lead them through the fenced off area. Coming back is okay, because they will go under the deck and around, but they won't do that with their leads on. Having dog calls for all sorts of comprises, but when you are snuggled up on the couch with a book and they are propped all around you, I guess it is worth it. But then the phone rings ................................

The women is being ridiculous. Agree totally with your summing up as quoted.

I looked up the last 1/2 dozen of Hoffpig's posts and didn't see anything that needed apologising for :D :D . A bit of true passion doesn't go astray.

Spot on. This needs to be reported - the bite that is not Poodlefan's post ) - but I imagine because your colleague needed stitches, it would have been.

I agree with Jed. Frankly, if you met my dogs out on a walk with your two, you wouldn't be too impressed either. They just go full on as if they did want to tear the other dog/s throat out ...... and then they settle down. I know it is annoying, but when I encounter people who know them and we know them, we just rein all the dogs in and in about 20-30 seconds all if normal with dogs happily sniffing. However, if you brought your two dogs into my back yard, there wouldn't be any of the barking, just excitement of the new, who the hell are these dogs, bit of sniffing, bit of that "jumping teasing" action dogs have and then back to the status quo of ignoring others - LOL. I used to be able to walk for about an hour in an off leash area in Leichhardt with all the dogs off the lead, but several years later and many foster dogs later, this is no longer possible. However, as the dog next door is not permanent, I would first of check how long he is going to be there and if for any length of time, try the introductions as per Jed's advice.

Lovely pix and a perfect living place for a dog: huge verandah, lots of running space, trees and grass. -
Frankly, I think I'd confront the neighbour. Nicely of course, in a chatty way and try to address the issues that your dog is having. If she is getting old, could it be that she is deaf? She may not even know she is shouting?? It doesn't matter whether not she is shouting at her dog, your dog, the paperboy, whomever. Dogs don't like shouting unless you are yelling for them to come to dinner. Seriously, though, some dogs get very upset by shouting and generally bad vibes.

Well it is a while ago now and I don't have any actual memory, just the photographs - I have heaps and she doesn't seem to have been a problem at all. Note she is not on a lead and is very happy smooching.

Oh, I wish I could help. I am a free agent, but that's no help. Missty is a gorgeous looking little girl - glad it is the back leg; once she is healed shouldn't be a problem at all. All the best for this family.

My first two dogs, tez: Nammu and Calypso, both long gone to god . Funnily enough, I dreamt last night of the friend who gave me the frame

Loved the video and I love to hear you laughing too - what was going on with Tango - LOL. Playing at being Greta Garbo ?? Wonderful news that Dylan has found his forever home: a special home for a special boy. You have a wonderful little family now, S/chick, and you have worked very very hard to make it that way. Congratulations. -
Can you take a photograph of the collar and run it in the local paper/s. Perhaps the papers would use their community service section to run notices about her. Dear little thing - I hope she either finds her old home or is rehomed to someone who will love her enough to get her beautiful collars.
