Oh that is so funny. I voted but as I clicked "Don't Allow" to someone wanting access to everything, I don't know if it will register

I couldn't comment on quality or otherwise - bit of a dunderhead where photography is concerned . Beautiful photos of a beautiful dog .... I particularly liked July

Ah, the dear old soul. Holly looks so lovely and soft and squishy ........ of course she is the Queen of the house and rules the dogs - LOL.

Australian Army Eed Koolie
Loving my Oldies replied to Perry's Mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
I thought something had been done. Needs to be a permanent exhibition. -
It was started then Bisart Dobes and still goes on - at least that's how I interpreted it. The voice over talked about the program going for over 50 years, I think. I will go back to the link posted and watch again (at least the parts I can bear to).

Loving my Oldies replied to dee lee's topic in General Dog Discussion
Even when she goes to the toilet in the children's room She truly is a beautiful dog, Deelee, and I think she too has been blessed to have you and your family in her life. ETA: It doesn't seem possible that it was a year ago !!! -

And that is the best news Those photographs are so so special. They should be in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Amber is on a couple of Koolie Rescue christmas cards and will be on some more next year - i am going to ask the War Memorial shop if they would be interested in stocking them. Oh, great work ;) . Tell us how you go. -

She was a damaged and hurting little soul, Kirty. You did the best for her all during her short life and when it became too much for her, you gave her peace. Give some to yourself, now.
-
Oh, Kirty. I don't often come to Rainbow Bridge, but I did when I saw you'd posted about Mustang and Hawkins. Your poor heart must be so battered and bruised. It is heartbreaking and gutwrenching. I am so sorry.

There is an Australian Bulldog rescue group They have rescued many AB's from the pounds They are run by the Australian bulldog society I will tell the doctor about that as well, thank you.
-
Thanks for all the answers. Poodlefan, that is about what I told the doctor, that I didn't think they were a recognised breed, they had quite a few health issues, lots of shonkies, etc etc. I will point him in the direction of Pip Nobes and leave the rest to him.

I recall seeing bits and pieces on DOL about Australian Bulldogs, but without taking too much notice. Nothing in the Breeds 101 Forum so wondering. I had to go to the skin specialist this morning and wore my "Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die" (don't flame me, breeders ) and when the doctor read it he said he wanted an Australian Bulldog. I said I would make enquiries, but I wasn't sure that the breeding was all above board in some places. I've googled and there are lots of sites, but I wanted to consult the wisdom of DOLers.

MM Sunny's owners said she has to walk along there every morning. They call it her 'catwalk' A very lucky little dog And lucky owners having the beach to walk along
-
Without wanting to sound too unsympathetic for poor little Patch, I have to say that his family seems to be very appropriately named

PoppyDog, most of us have made plenty of mistakes - a case of not knowing what we don't know and don't even know we have to know. Poppy is loved and healthy and that is the most important thing. Plenty of registered people of any profession are shysters and it is not something that is easy to discover.

Thanks for that. Fascinating really . Whoever invented that must have made a motza at least I hope so, because I am sure it has saved many lives.

Using Dna To Catch People Who Don't Clean Up After Their Dogs
Loving my Oldies replied to sandgrubber's topic in In The News
Even bins and plastic bag dispensers don't motivate some people. The one and only time I went to an off leash fully fenced dog park in Asquith, I picked up nine, yes nine, bags of poo and in most bags I had two or three dogs poos. The park is fully fenced with double gated entrance, tap with a cemented surrounded so the area doesn't turn into a quagmire, benches, bins, bag dispenser, so absolutely everything considered. I wrote to the council and the lady responded, inter alia: well people chat and don't have their eyes on their dogs all the time . Oh and about the fence: people thought it was for hanging their used plastic bags on ---- just a couple of metres away from the bin in some instances. Only fines and stiff ones at that will get to some people. -
Your puppy is fast disappearing ;) . Sadly as with any professions, there are vets and there are vets . Pretty awful when you get one who hardly knows a dog from a cat. Great to see Chase looking so well. What is an epipen?

Guess What I Just Bought The Sibs!
Loving my Oldies replied to W Sibs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh WOW!! That looks great, Vi. Think I might get one for myself - LOL. -
Always clicking over to your blog, K, and am lost for superlatives! Some (probably many) of your photos belong in National Geographic.
-
Gosh, the Spitz breeds are just so stunning.
-
They are all such great shots. Apart from the very very funny last one, I think I like the ones of Sunny trotting along the wall. Some dogs look as though they are off on some very serious business .......... PLAY PLAY PLAY.
