Makes you wonder where they were when things like this happen. Over the years, I had a few scares and it is just the worst feeling. I've also had a few chases down the street . One dog I was fostering went through the cat flap which is in a waist high window. One of the reason that home checks are so important when rehoming a dog, I believe  . You get to see things that others don't. Anyway, great news about Kosmo.

I've sent a link to my sister and my niece in Brisbane, Sue, hoping they might be able to provide assistance from time to time. Good luck with your venture.

What Fruit And Veges Do Your Dogs Like

  I think I love you, Kirislin. -
I've just come across this, Rozzie. Mandrake was a very handsome man. Every time one of our beautiful creatures passes away, the space where they used to be is so powerfully empty. They make such a difference to our lives, when they are here and when they are gone. Sincere condolences, Rozzie.

Introducing Takoda

I can't get over the wonderfully intense eyes that Takoda has - such a stunning dog. And everyone, start saving your Rescue Remedy for K9Angel for when she has to leave Jack at school - LOL. -

Do Other Pets Mourn
Loving my Oldies replied to sterlingsilver's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Those of us who have owned many dogs, I am pretty sure, would have seen the complete range of emotions from total unconcern to absolutely distraught. However, the most amazing display was from a dog who lived down the street from me. My little girl had congestive heart disease and died young. My other dog was a total mess and could not be left alone. However, when I walked him for the first time without the little girl, the dog who lived a block away went absolutely beserk to the extent that I was afraid he would hurt himself. He was a large bull terrier who adored Calypso and he was throwing himself against the fence, racing up and down and crying in that dreadful way that bullies have. It was so awful for all of us. I can't remember any more details as to how long it was before I could walk that way without this reaction. -

I love what you have on his little box. Mufti's is having "Mufti the Magnificent" -
My first vet (now retired) called 99% of luxating patella operations "tantamount to mutilation". If ever a vet diagnosed a dog of mine with ANYTHING wrong with his or her knees or hips, I would get probably about 4 opinions. That said, I am in the fortunate position of having vets that I would trust implicitly.

Dol Is So Educational
Loving my Oldies replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, I wondered about that. Although I listened a couple of times, I just couldn't understand the name given in the answering machine message, otherwise I would have checked white pages. I'll ring the vets later to see if they have had any luck. -
Help Needed With Xl Transport Crate
Loving my Oldies replied to marty's_master's topic in General Dog Discussion
Would they get through at the moment? Makes me wonder if a road transport of dogs is stranded anywhere. . At least they would be safe and being looked after. -
Dol Is So Educational
Loving my Oldies replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
If it hadn't been for the account on DOL, I just would have set off trying to call her to me which, as anyone who has done that, can be unsuccessful. I've just remembered another time when I was on the trail of two staffies, the little squat heavily built ones. Well, I eventually lured one to me and into the car and the other one followed. They "settled" themselves in the back seat of my car and proceeded to have a little love fest. Gods know what anyone behind me would have thought .... the car was rocking -
Help Needed With Xl Transport Crate
Loving my Oldies replied to marty's_master's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you use an animal transport company you can hire a crate from them. However, if you have storage space and think you might be moving around a bit, probably a good idea to have one on hand in any case. Marty will certainly be eye catching up there. Be prepared to have lots of people oohing and aahing over him. Good luck with getting Marty up to Townsville and to getting to know people. I went to boarding there a thousand years ago - LOL. -
I thought it was pretty fantastic. I have to say, I was having a bit of a snuffle when he couldn't stop kissing Oscar. What a combination: huge love and compassion for animals, a great inventive mind, terrific surgical skills, knowledge of engineering and . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . half of DOL with the hots for him

That's for sure. I get quite a lump in me froat, looking at them.

Dol Is So Educational

I can just imagine it. :D ;) Well, I haven't heard from the women whose phone number was on Coco's collar. I hope the vet hospital has been able to get hold of her. Hornsby Council sends their lost dogs to Sydney Dogs and Cats Home these days. -

She was just gorgeous - had me in stitches. She wouldn't be any good at keeping the burglars away. One of those dogs who'd welcome them in because they'd come just to entertain her. -

I did - Pennant Hills Road is dreadful. I've lived here for nearly 6 years and it is getting worse. So glad I don't have to negotiate it in working hours. -
This afternoon I decided to go up to the service station to get some pastries (yes they do sell them fresh :D ) and was just about to pull in, but changed my mind and decided to go to Woollies instead. So glad I did. Running along Pennant Hills Road (for non Sydneysiders, this is a very busy 6 lane highway leading to the main northern freeway) was gorgeous largish Staffy cross girl. Oh no! Sinking heart. I whipped around the next corner hoping that she'd follow the footpath, which thankfully she did. Remembering what a DOLer had done with successful result, I pushed open my pax side door, but couldn't see her. So I went to get out, but looked back and there she was at the door - LOL. I patted the seat and told her to hop in which she did with great alacrity hopped into the back, into the boot area, hopped back and came back to the front to have cuddles . She obviously has taken no notice of any advice about hopping into cars with strangers. Luckily, her lovely pink leather collar was etched with her name and phone number. As the number wasn't answering, I took her down to Hornsby Vets where she will stay (the are a holding vet for the Hornsby impounding facility) until owner can be contacted. (I still went to Woollies - once I have my heart set on Danish, there is no denying it.)
