  1. I didn't know about these ones. Thanks, another one to add to the list. Makes me wish I lived in Victoria. These people are so inspiring. Mind you, the first time I stood in a cow paddy I'd probably be outta there.
  2. Great photos, beautiful dogs, wonderful surrounds (can I build in a corner, please  ) and lush grass.
  3. My choice of calendar is from Edgar's Mission. http://www.edgarsmission.org.au LOL - thanks Rozzie. You just cost me $83.00: Christmas Cards, Bag, and Best Buddy to a sheep called Mighty Mouse.
  4. What a lovely update, Tapua. Yes, enthusiasm is definitely a wonderful Katdogs' trait
  5. Wow! Can definitely see the difference between him and every other itty bitty black slug   . Good time of year to be getting, K, because the time will absolutely fly.
  6. Tashnchief, your heart must be breaking. I too keep looking at the thread hoping that one day before too long Orange will be back with you.
  7. Oooooooooh - just remember I will be your BESTEST FRIEND.  OT - are you doing your stall this year?
  8. I found my old thread :D :D http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/201346-this-is-more-for-me/page__p__4697089__hl__steps__fromsearch__1#entry4697089
  9. Those look okay, but I can't see how they don't slip and slide all over the wooden floors? You can put some of the felt pads on the bottom. I have similar steps from Innovations and they don't slip. Hmmm ... they'd probably fall apart pretty quickly :D
  10. It's hard for those of us who have worked in vets, pounds and with rescue to imagine this, but Willow is right. Katdogs, I'd be inclined to put up a few posters around the neighbourhood as well. Some people have pretty healthy dogs who go to the vet once a year for annual vax, so they don't get to hear about much in the doggy world. Your little guy sounds perfect. A suggestion: if he isn't claimed, why don't you contact PAWS and say you'll foster him? They'll take him on if they have a ready made foster carer.
  11. Have a look at Innovations - the ones they have are higher. http://www.innovations.com.au/Product_Detail.aspx?ParentCategoryID=163&CategoryID=160&ProductID=120534
  12. I feel this says more about the person than it is an age related issue. It is being very selfish, I think, and not accepting what they can offer a dog or any pet for that matter. This sort of person wouldn't get a dog from me, either.
  13. Shirley and I would be contempories; I have five dogs who are walked twice a day, I go to the gym, I did bootcamp before I pulled shoulder muscles and I am in the process of sifting and spreading about 2 tonnes of topsoil. What has age got to do with anything? What a shame she isn't in the market for an older dog: Bunter would love his very own special person.
  14. Hmm, Molly needs to borrow my mini trampoline   . She sure looks one happy doggy now.
  15. I can't help you with ideas or ideas for toys, just wanted to say good on you for wanting the best for your dogs. I have a couple who don't play and, while it has worried me from time to time, I just let them be. One of my dogs plays with herself :D in that every so often she starts to bark and then proceeds to run madly around the yard or through the house. It is sooooo funny. I join in to try to keep it going for as long as possible. Love their names. My first dogs were Nammu (Sumerian creation goddess although he was a he :) ) and Calypso - from the Odyssey.
  16. A very understanding wife - great story   Gosh, Aphra, that is fabulous. Just look at those two having fun - brings a little tear, a happy one of course.
  17. That's the best best story, Puppy_Sniffer. It also shows that having someone not only very experienced but also deeply in love with a breed can work wonders for the dogs. I see so many people who just don't seem to have a clue about what dogs really want, dragging them away from other dogs, etc etc. Great work by Ams and you. Loved the bit about the man showering with Oscar - LOL - he will have great skin too . I regularly hear from three people who adopted dogs from me those dogs being Caramel, Kisho (owner now on DOL as HarperLee) and Nilla.
  18. You are welcome to them, Wildthing. So if there is anyone going to ACT hopefully we can get them to you, :)
  19. What avenues are you pursuing, Ams? Unfortunately in a situation like Doxy Roxy's, there aren't too many DOLers who don't have a dog. Do you have a weekly spot in the local weekly, or any of the community newspapers that service your area? Flyers at Lions Club, Rotary, Bingo Halls, Toast Masters/Mistresses, etc etc.
  20. I am sick at heart for you and your little dog.
  21. I'm in Normanhurst near Hornsby. If you are in rescue, maybe someone doing transport could collect them for you.
  22. It's awful that you have to post clarifications like this, Tashnchief. If people would just b%&^dy read threads in full before launching into their criticisms.
