  1. That was my immediate reaction to the question. One of my dogs is a Finnish Spitz cross who has a brilliant red coat. He is the one who gets the most attention when we are out walking.
  2. Well with GSD's I was always aware on how other people thought about them. Plus my daughter had a friend who was terrifed of dogs and no way was I going to risk a false accusation. If the dogs were locked up they couldn't be blamed for scaring her or knocking her over. Parents freaked cause I let an 8 week old puppy run around in the same room as the kids and I. We have to be second guessing other's actions all the times and try to not leave anything to chance. Re freaking because an 8 week old puppy is playing around ..... Hate to think of the messages those parents are sending. My heart goes out to yet another toddler and parents and dog for being embroiled in a terrifying situation which could so easily have been avoided - in hindsight.
  3. Happy happy news!! Well done for all who work to get dogs ( and other impounded animals) saved.
  4. Apart from colour, how do you tell the difference? Joke!!
  5. . I missed this when first posted. Sorry Indigirl. I hope you are wrong and I hope that I was also wrong in my post No. 33.
  6. Umm, does that mean that I have to go back over the entire 6 pages and find some small print?
  7. Interesting about the point between the shoulder blades, because that is where my dogs love being scratched and so does Gussy Cat.
  8. OP has already said the rspca have told them the dogs have been adopted. Thank you. I missed that.
  9. 8 days since this thread started. Are the dogs still needing rescue/adoption. Hard to believe a solution can't have been found in this time.
  10. Girl after my own heart. That is presuming the wine is for you and not to knock Harry out
  11. Yummy yummy - a black Cocker. Christina's post made me laugh. When I first had two little Maltese puppies (loooooooong time ago) after quite a few nights of crying and yelping and general distress, I let them sleep with me. I was told by my vet that I'd never have a proper night's sleep again   Wrong wrong wrong. I love having my babies all around me I even have a set of stairs for them to climb up. Looking forward to hearing all about Harry.
  12. Stinky stinky   Get some rolls of Sir Walter Buffalo. Not expensive, easy to lay and will grow very quickly. Definitely.
  13. And isn't that what it is all about, giving your dog love and security. I bet you feel great too, tollers.
  14. Just remembered this thread of mine re lovely experience with a breeder whom I contacted just to ask a question. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/243838-my-experience-with-a-breeder/
  15. Thank god. I get so upset when people say you mustn't comfort your dog because it will just reinforce the behaviour. The dogs is terrified for goodness sake. Anyway, thank god there are some sensible directions coming out. If you can't sleep because the dog is stressed and barking, go and lie with him. Poor fellow. Good luck with that. So awful to see a dog racing by at 100 miles an hour through pure terror. Don't like fireworks anymore. Well, that's not quite true. I can still see the beauty, but I don't get any pleasure because I know that dogs are going to die: run over, cut from going through glass doors, drowning in swimming pools . Too awful. They aren't going to be stopped though, so we just have to do everything to try to keep out dogs safe and to spread the word. BTW, I have a dog who is terrified of storms and even if the skies aren't showing that a storm is imminent, her behaviour is indicative. The vet gave me a few valium tablets and because she is tiny, she gets 1/4 tablet ..... works wonders.
  16. Hmmmm, think this can quite aptly describe humans all over the world.
  17. Went to one years ago, which was great. I guess you'd need a more up to date experience than mine, though, to know what he is like today.
  18. don't feel like a dummy. You can't be expected to know all the various ways all the different breeders like to be approached. lovely helpful post, murve. Going back a couple of years, I saw a Bernese Mtn puppy ..... In the flesh  OMG what a beautiful beautiful dog. Good luck in finding one, spyda.
  19. What a great sequence of photographs. Love Zora ..... and her name. She is beautiful.
  20. BrilliantPrints = BrilliantService
