  1. If you had paid more attention to what was posted you would have seen that the times were PM not AM. I think it is time you just called it quits.
  2. WOW, Sugar is one solid little lady .... and very beautiful.
  3. Definitely wall mounting material there. As to the tear in the eye, I don't have the photographic proof, but yesterday I heard Bunter making the noises he usually makes when he is rolling around on a mat probably with a bone underneath him :D, looked around the doorway and there was Tamar egging him on to play, and he was responding. Yep, tear in DD's eye as well.
  4. That's not a Chihuahua! That's a Teacup Wolf.
  5. Lovely story, Muttrus. Couple of points: whoever told you he didn't much like it outside, needs to be given a reality check. A Great Dane or a Chihuahua ..... first and foremost they are dogs!! Annoying Lily: in the right home, she would probably be as good as Buttons - so sad. That said, Buttons sure is lovely. With a couple of baths and ongoing flea prevention his coat will soon be perfect. Look forward to more updates.
  6. Kirislin, you take the most amazing photographs. But the best part is that they are photographs of dogs having so much fun.
  7.  A bit off topic, but years ago, I was out walking the dogs, rounded a corner and there, sitting on her doorstep waiting for her lift to the footy was a woman I was acquainted with, attired in all her football regalia: hat, scarf, t-shirt, etc etc. It was all I could do to keep a straight face. This woman was well past middle age - - - - Yep thats why I wrote that, Ive also observed people who are like that Most people have something they are really passionate and even obsessive about.. ours just happens to be our dogs Yeah, but I don't wear their collars and leads   ETA: That said, I remember years ago doing the evening walk, having a blue lead for one dog and a green lead for the other and realised I was also dressed in blue and green
  8. Yes, free to scream in supermarkets, fed on demand, annoy other people, have no control over emotions and think the world revovlves around them
  9. Sadly, that is a regularly held belief. Dogs pop out knowing how to sit, stand, walk on a leash, etc etc. Persephone, did your friend understand what you meant by a rescue dog? Maybe she thought you were referring to show dogs? Seems a very odd reaction to me.

  11. Says it all really... perhaps it was there way of telling you to bugger off and go talk dog elsewhere This made me laugh. Honestly, Mantis, ditch the Footy Forum (they are probably all on drugs LOL) and take Cougar for a walk in her cooling vest.
  12. EdmundH. YOU were the one telling everyone "in your opinion" of course, that they were wrong. You came into a lighthearted thread with all guns blazing and when people didn't go WOW WOW WOW, this guy is tops, you get all huffy. You need to take a reality check, mate, and, if you want anyone to take you seriously or to even bother to read anything you post perhaps you might reconsider your posting style. Most people's dogs are not working dogs and, the last time I looked, my dogs were dogs and not humans. Anyway, for the others who, like me, are all wrong in feeding their dogs in the evening - LOL - I am about to have a late late breakfast and the dogs will have to do with a snack.
  13. A beautiful photo, Persephone. Can't believe how grey he'd become. Your photographic skills ensure you will have wonderful memories that won't fade. Your little pack is getting smaller - only 7 weeks since Oi
  14. LOL, I just saw this on their Facebook - haven't seen some of these before. I think 4 and 8 are particularly relevant
  15. Looks like I'll have to make the trek to Aussie Pet Foods. I wish he'd told me on Saturday when I phoned.
  16. Sheesh, now you've done it EdmundH. I told my dogs that, in a thread about their eating habits, the term "athletes" had somehow mysteriously appeared. They are hiding under the bed and refuse to come out unless I promise them they won't be sent to bootcamp. After brekky that is.
  17. LOL Jed. Mine are fed as follows: Bunter in a room by himself because he is a vacuum cleaner and even having him around wouldn't get the others to eat up without fussing (have tried - LOL). Myrtie in the kitchen on newspaper, because she is a very messy eater and whilst a good eater, she is slow. The other three (Danny, Jeune and Tamar) out on the deck together. The positioning of the dogs for meal time has been in place for quite some time, but the latest regime (ie feeding at night) seems to be working well. They are hungry and eager by the end of the day. And after about 1/2 hour, we go for a walk around the neighbourhood. And before anyone tells me that I shouldn't be walking them after a meal, I wait for 1/2 hour and our "walk" would try a snail - LOL.
  18. I've gone down the apple cider vinegar route as well, but can't stand the smell
  19. True, but dogs aren't humans and the general doesn't always suit the specific. :) In your opinion. Metobalism is metabolism. Calories are burned by movement, not by sleeping. Yes, in my opinion .... and, more importantly, knowledge of my dogs and our routines, such as they are. They eat anywhere between 5.30pm and 7pm of an evening and we are up for hours after that.
  20. Apart from Ben's sending through a pricelist immediately after I spoke with him on the phone on Saturday morning, I am having no luck with emails and phone calls since . It would appear that they have been creating a new website and this might be the problem. No mobiles listed. You don't happen to have one for them, Stans Mum?? I've sent my emails with received and read requests in Options, but no response, so I think they must be having problems. I've phoned a couple of times, too.
  21. I've gotta get out of this before my day is brought to a standstill by going over so many memories . There have been so many oldies in my life, rescued from the pounds to give them love and comfort for whatever time they had left.
  22. Oh Persephone. I can't believe it. Hamlet was one of the first dogs I "knew" on DOL. You must be devastated. Such a darling boy and such a character. Too too soon. I am in tears for you both
  23. Yes, I know T. But I just thought I'd put the number up there for future reference As was in my post, the police are the first point and everyone knows the triple zero number.
