  1. That's great news I saw the ad was removed yesterday and I was hoping it was your work colleague :) WOW - that is fantastic. You can keep us adicts posted on progress. :D :D
  2. Have to say, I found that extraordinary too . You can't go around throwing broken glass into people's yards. I'm sure if someone did that in the street, the police would be pretty quick off the mark. Yes. It must be horrible to be in a situation like that.
  3. But at least it means the rangers aren't going to take "punitive" action and he won't be going around making other little dogs who may not have a family friend as good as you are   The biggy is that if the father is prepared to spend the money even though the dog has been treated in an inhumane manner and one that is offensive to his manhood , it means (hopefully) that he can be reasoned with.
  4. Oh for goodness sake. I am not insinuating anything. I am saying that the knee can be slipped in and out and some vets will tell you correctly that that is normal, but some will say that the dog has luxating patella, needs an operation immediately. I am telling you what I have seen with my own eyes. I have also suggested SASH at North Ryde if, in fact, the OP does need a surgeon. As has another poster. Boil away.
  5. What a terrific outcome. Your boy seems to have chosen a good gal . I hope too that the changes (crikey getting the dog desexed is HUGE!!) continue and they are the start of better times ahead. Can you visit me next, please, and sort me out :D :D
  6. Yep, I'm in awe - LOL. Looks a fabulous set up, YG
  7. Yep  what's ours is theirs... More like what's mine is theirs, and what's theirs is in tiny pieces all over the floor and the couches... :p LOL, disintegratus . . . . . hence your name ?? It is a case in this house, too, that every room is their room.
  8. I wonder if it is a Spitz thing? My Danny is a Finnish Spitz X who is hardly ever bathed, just brushed when he starts shedding. Although he is red and of course the dirt wouldn't show, his coat has always been glorious: shiny, soft and the subject of lots of attention over the years. I could have sold him a 100 times over
  9. Do you ever stray into the realm of effective communication? It's not literacy that's the issue here but people struggling to understand what you're actually on about. Situation normal. Someone may know the meaning of 90% of words in the dictionary, but what matter that if they can't string a few of them together to form effective communication? Sorry MP :). It may be another 10 years of being on DOL before Sheridan and I agree on anything. I have to make the most of it.
  10. I am so sorry and sad, Just Andreea. Poor little darling. It is heartbreaking for, as you say, such a young dog to have suffered so much and not get the chance to have a happy life that someone would be over the moon to give her. Anyone with the slightest involvement in rescue knows the tremendous thrill of getting a dog through illnesses brought on by simple neglect and lack of care and that dog going on to be the joy of someone's life. Conversely most of us have known the heartbreak of dogs who are just too medically compromised (which seems to be the case with Gracie) that no amount of skill and love can pull them through. Deepest sympathies, Just Andrea. Yes, you and the vets tried your damnedest, yes you gave Gracie a name, love and the best chance possible. Sadly, her "happy ever after" was not to be. Fly free, little Gracie. We felt your pain and we certainly feel the loss of you.
  11. Unless someone has picked her up, I don't hold out much hope for her . Not knowing and facing the prospect of never knowing - well that's the worst possible situation.
  12. I had to laugh at that . I reckon your idea of you and Casper going away and leaving OH to do it all is the best suggestion. On the other hand . . . . . . . . . . . .
  13. Comedy gold tralee  Hubris, more like it. Who cares, though. So long as Alyosha knows others think she handled this amazingly, that is all that counts.
  14. You need to start a ticker so we can follow your progress
  15. I thought it was a compliment, but then I gave up reading any Tralee's posts over one line, as generally it hurts my head to try to work out what he is saying, so I may be wrong and he may be indulging himself again. I hope not because not many people would have handled the situation Alyoscha was in as well as she did.
  16. I think the OP is just trying to find ways to help make her dog comfortable. Saggy bellies can be very uncomfortable. :)
  17. TOTALLY Off Topic, W Sibs. I just had a quick look at the Pregnancy thread because I enjoy reading Rappie ......Discovered you there!! How exciting - I am so happy for you.
  18. Poor little Gracie. I hope she pulls through, JA. And hugs to you. Have a sweet cup of tea and try to sleep a little so you can be ready to support Gracie in the morning.
  19. Congratulations, Alyosha. I certainly hope the older girl can follow through. The rangers seem pretty switched on as well. Hopefully everyone and the dog will start to have better lives, thanks to you. You have paid though in stress and fear, but shone through.
  20. Before you do anything - thorough vet check.
  21. My biggest regret when I bought this house was that I didn't stick with my desire to have a family/rumpus style room which would be the main "hang out" room. I didn't want a dog room specifically, just a place where we could all be together. Mainly I wanted the dining and lounge room areas to be tidy, styled and with with minimum dog hair decorations. I've tried to wean Jeune off the couch and recently went for 3 days, but she was so miserable, hanging around with her tail tucked in and looking totally lost and forlorn. Evently I gave in, covered the couch with a large blanket and she is happy again. Talk about a Prima Donna. Now who can I blame :D :D
  22. No advice as my move was with several animals who didn't particularly care as long as I was around. However, I do feel for you because the needs and welfare of our animals is so important to us. Just give Casper lots of love and cuddles, which I am sure you will do as a matter of course :D . I hope the moved goes as smoothly as possible. Keep us informed.
  23. I bought them because I was concerned that my dogs, although all chipped of course, had no identification should they get out. It has happened
  24. As Haredown has said: highly dangerous and possibly lethal to leave these sorts of collars on. I don't like leaving collars of any sort on my dogs, but I bought those breakaway ones with their name and my phone number embroidered on them. I went through Personalised Pet. The collars were very reasonable with a huge range of colours.
