A shame they have been separated - from what I have read here and in other places, it can sometimes take a little while for the instincts to kick in. Had the mother been kept with the puppies, she may have come around. However, I hope you find a surrogate quickly.

The first rule when associating with a rescue group in any capacity is: If in doubt Don't. :)

This has really confused me, Jellyblush. I cannot begin to understand what messages googling would have provided to bring you to a decision to post or not to post . And if a rescue group has asked you not to post about your experiences, then I would be dropping that rescue group like a hot potatoe. That said, would love to have an update on how you are going. We have all become very fond of you and Roo and care about how you are progressing :) .

This is very exciting. I certainly wish you, Roo and Grey (Groo?? :laugh: :laugh: ) luck and harmony in abundance and that the threesome can become permanent.

The puppies are looking just beautiful, Chezal, and doing what all puppies should have the chance to do: romp in the garden with other dogs, find things to chew on and just chill.

I was looking for another thread and came across this one. I didn't vacuum yesterday and today the place looks like a grooming parlour. I was wondering whether it could be something to do with age as well?? Because I didn't have this problem in my previous house which was occupied by as many dogs and also had wooden floorboards. I still have three of the same dogs, but they are all elderly now, that is 8.1/2 years older. The amount of hair floating around is just extraordinary. I even found some on the windows today - must have been moist from condensation and then hair flying around attached itself. The vacuum clearner awaits LOL.

Not necessarily. The dog has shown aggression only to the child. In another place he might be the perfect dog . Finding that place that could be difficult, time consuming and probably emotionally exhausting.

The difference here, PRADA68, is that you recognised what you needed to do, both for yourself and for your dogs and acted accordingly.

He has been your baby for 10 years and now another baby has usurped this position. Your second post certainly shines more light on the situation.

Your story needs to be read and understood by all dog owners.

While I understand and sympathise with why you are asking this question, only you can make the final decision. That said, it seems a pretty drastic thing to do if the scenarios presented by jed and mixeduppup haven't been considered. You say yourself, he has been your baby for 10 years. You should know him better than anyone.
