Oh dear - funny dog expressions. Frankly Carter's Mum, he is such a lucky boy to have you as his mum. You saw a problem, asked for assistance and guidance and implemented recommendations immediately. Congratulations to you both.

Foster Not Wanting To Eat Alone?
Loving my Oldies replied to Loreley's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
As others have said: settling in period. And now that she has started doing this, it may be something she does from time to time forever. My dogs are the most idiosyncratic eaters ever . They are not starving and I have learned to live with it - albeit annoyed from time to time  . Obviously Terah's new mum would be worried, though. They have a lot of getting to know you to be done. I'm sure it will work out in time. It is a worry, particularly when you don't have a dog's history. -

LOL - that is just a beautiful photo of beautiful dogs, Jules. Happy Birthday, Renae. You are very special and totally adored. -
Well, my story is a bit embarrassing. Naturally, I'd always considered that they understood a lot more than they let on. For goodness sake! How many times can they look up at one with big innocent eyes pretendng not to understand: Stop licking. Stop barking. Stop pestering me. However, confirmation came when I started getting phone calls from men I didn't know. They would ring up, be very friendly and suggest we meet. Naturally I was a bit confused: how did did these people get my phone number? How did they know a bit about me and assume that I would like to meet up somewhere. Whenever one of these calls came through, all the dogs would disappear into another room and when I'd go looking for them, they would be looking either angelic, embarrassed or, if you can imagine it, almost sniggering. Something one of the men callers had said prompted me to go trawling. There it was!! I was entered into the RSVP site What a shock! Now I know I have become a bit of an old stick in the mud, stay at home, but honestly, I LIKE being with my dogs and my cat. I know they thought they were doing the right thing in trying to set me up with someone, but really, to put in my interests: mountain climbing, bungy jumping, trail bike riding.... well I might have been adventuous once, but those days are well gone, sadly. And as for being tall, slim and very attractive Well, from their vantage point, maybe I am Anyway, I couldn't be angry with them, but told them not to do it again and removed my entry on RSVP. I wonder how that copy of "The Autobiography of Lassie" came to be downloaded on my iPad

Can you start a separate thread for Koda, please? Just for dummies like me I popped in here thinking: oh goody, an update on Gnarla. -

Yes Or No To Grooming A Stray?
Loving my Oldies replied to HugUrPup's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd be inclined to give it a go, kirty. They can only say no and be rude. On the other hand, they might be relieved to be "getting rid of a problem". I lusted after a little black Pomeranian who was always getting out of his yard (that is, people left the gate open ) and seemed to live on the front porch . I finally plucked up the courage to ask the people (who went away regularly at weekends with their bigger, younger dog and left him alone) they said that had I asked earlier they would have let me have him. By this time, I'd taken him to the vet for them, organised grooming and flea treatment, but they'd started to include him in their activities. As you would know, matted dogs can be in serious discomfort right through to a lot of pain from the matts pulling together with urine and poo burns. So sad. -
Don't over think it LOL. Just expect the best outcome (after reasonable homework) and that is probably what will happen.

I don't mind it, actually, as it seems to fit such an interesting and distinctive dog. However, a name has to mean something to an owner.

Which one?

How is her name pronounced? An-je-leeka, or An-GEL-ik- a ??

Lovely looking dog. I know you can't really tell from a photo, but she does seem to be good natured too - she seems to have a spring in her step. :) :)
