Loving my Oldies

I thought it was terrific, Leema. Can I suggest just a couple of little tweakings? I would change the shot of Bandit after the words about him waiting to the one where he is lying down and looking pensive or the one at about 3.47mins into the video. I watched it again and it is head shot - gorgeous. I would also combine the various activities such as playing on the couch with the blue ball, at the water with the other dogs, and playing with the little pup and not show different aspects of the same games in the second half of the video. I would also caption where he gets right down on the ground so the pup can play with him. I think dogs who do this have an extra softness about them. He is a lovely dog. Maybe he was meant to stay with you :laugh: :laugh:

It isn't just the older generation, Scootaloo. When I joined an organisation some years ago, the office computer was absolutely riddled with viruses because the young girls just opened up anything and everything . It was cheaper to get a new one and start afresh than try to clean it up. Probably more useful than a govt campaign would be a built in warning as the computer was turned on.

It isn't so much that Tibbies are renowned for their ferociousness :D :D , but more so that everyone and anyone in the house would have been alerted. At least that's what I tell myself when I look at my very useful littlies barking madly because a bird has flown past the window. :laugh:

I suggested that once on this forum and I was accused of being a dreadful person, hurting, bursting and god knows what, eardrums. You'd think I'd suggested poking out their eardrums with a knitting needle There are plenty of people who don't use computers at work and may decide to get one at home. If someone isn't a frequent or confident user, I imagine it would be very easy to be taken in.

Such a ghastly tragedy. Not one of us was there so we don't know. There are any number of scenarios. The parents of a 3 month old baby are probably a bit sleep deprived and when they do get the chance to sleep I imagine they sleep very very deeply. However, it is all supposition on our part. Poor little baby, Mia, and those whose lives are changed forever.

My dogs are very good at emptying my bank accounts. It is a very good thing that another one of their very useful attributes is for lying around looking gorgeous.

May I say first of all that I deeply sympathise with you in such a difficult time. We love our dogs so much that we agonise over what is the best we can do for them. That said, my feelings would echo Anne's (see her post below) and particularly agree with her point about going to a specialist.

Gee I wonder if they think a carer is too old if they are over 60 I am 63 maybe I am too old to save the dogs in the first place. Maree CPR Just going on the past, Keetamouse. :laugh: :laugh: I'm even older. Second checking with PAWS.

Please keep us up to date on this, Keetamouse. Some rescues think anyone over 60 is too old to have a dog :laugh: . Somewhere there is a little dog who is going to have a lovely lovely life with this gentleman.

The vet put it nicely, she's having the puppyhood she never got. Now that is a vet to cherish

It will probably take a while for her to "forget" the itchy feeling. I was going to comment that her coat looks beautiful. Other will have advise on diet, but I've alway been under the impression that Flaxseed was up there at the top.

That's worth a glass of bubbly to celebrate.

Thank you everyone for giving me a run down on Lort Smith. I just knew (from DOL) that they were a great place. I didn't know they were a not for profit and if it has been mentioned, I hadn't taken it on board. Must reconsider beneficiaries in my Will. Anything I own when I die is going to selected animal charities.

With the continued love and security she is getting in your home, Michelleva, she will quickly be back to her latest progress status. Little things may upset the apple cart from time to time, but she'll never go back to square one.

I heard only good things about Lort Smith too and I suspected immediately that Michelleva had confused it with Lost Dogs Home. I am confused, however, as to why Lort Smith needs donations. Most good veterinary hospitals don't need donations. Wouldn't that be just like giving your local vet a donation. I'm not being cute, just curious :)

Just worry when you find Widget changing his nappy.
