  1. This is what used to happen to my boy. I was able to gently pull on hairs to get the sheath unrolled.
  2. Yes to this. It can be excruciatingly painful and you may need surgical assistance. Happened a couple of times with one of my dogs so have been told of the risks.
  3. So are you all going out to this old boy with a mountain of bedding and winter pyjammies?
  4. Lots of bone shaped mats and Cat Igloos left at Aldi Hornsby. I bought a heater, two snickers bars and two floor mats LOL. The mats are for the trampoline beds on the deck as the current ones are wearing out. They can be machine washed and have rubber backing so won't slip off. Next grocery shop? Aldi here I come.
  5. Is that what will happen is GR takes him? Why do some "rescues" do that? A cage is a cage is a cage.
  6. There is more to "saving a life" than just springing a dog, cat, other from a pound. I wish people would stop and think about what they are doing. Glad you have managed to sort this, Keetamouse. That person has done herself (and the animals she "rescues") no favours by acting in this irresponsible manner.
  7. Nova looks in total approval of your purchase
  8. I agree. I've never had a problem with an employer understanding my loss. A good employee makes a good boss and vice versa - generally speaking. Both can be arseholes.
  9. The subject has been done a thousand times, ricey, as evidenced by having its own sub forum.
  10. I hope she gets in touch. Animals need to be correctly identified on the registers.
  11. Beautiful. You and birth mother :D have done a great job.
  12. Cough cough ... :D I picked up their catalogue and, of course, you are right. I want to go in to look at their heaters on Saturday. I don't need beds, but I like the look of the Pet Bowl Mats.
  13. I went into my local Aldi (Westfield at Hornsby) yesterday on the strength of this thread. LOL. I didn't expect any beds to be left as it was latish afternoon. However, I did look at a few things I needed, but was in a hurry to get home, so didn't purchase. I was amazed at the prices though. For instance, I use Lite Soy and the equivalent in Aldi is over a dollar cheaper than the one I usuallly buy at Woolworths. As I use about three cartons a week that would amount up over a year. The thing is: all the brands are different. I guess I just have to be re-educated LOL.
  14. OMG! The people should be traced and charged with animal cruelty. Poor darling girl. to you and your teacher, HugUrPup.
  15. Ha ha. Very different from the Dingo I have as this months calendar photo. Shorter legs.
  16. Great shots. Is he creating a stir around town. Can't imagine there are too many Shar Pei in Kalgoorlie. Those bush shots are so interesting .... all the different shades of green growing out of that red dirt.
  17. Beautiful photo, Terri S. I don't have a puppy, but had wonderful puppy play yesterday. I was out in the front garden and a woman was walking a gorgeous, bit skittish, little dog. I commented and she said: it is our first walk as all vax are complete. Little red girl was a beautiful RR of 14 weeks. So soft and such a brilliant gleaming colour. The lady found her breeder through DOL listed breeders, so I told her to join the forum and come into this thread.
  18. I'll happily give him an ice cream whenever he wants one. Gorgeous fellow.
  19. The trouble is, like any breed, being in the wrong hands equals potential trouble and possible tragedy. I saw a puppy Cane Corso at the vets a couple of years ago and he was absolutely beautiful and owned by a woman who'd had them before. I imagine he will grow up to be a "good citizen".
  20. I can't believe that wedding plans could get in the way of an opportunity to see Turid Rugaas
  21. Don't just suggest it! Threaten her
