  1. Oh gosh!! 5 years is such a short time.
  2. Well, that is a thought, I suppose, VizslaMomma, but I do love Stella's little white Tufty.
  3. Will Little Trouble turn into Big Trouble, Bigger Trouble or Biggest Trouble?
  4. I am so shocked at Stella's wantonness. I thought she was totally devoted to Jordie. And now I don't know if my phantom puppy has been sired by a Teddy Bear Such a worry.
  5. How unspeakably tragic. Hard to find the words, really. At approximately 5pm on Monday 22 of this month it will be six years since I came home from a quick trip down to Woolworths and found Tirra had been killed. Not a day goes by still that I don't think of him. So what it would be like for that family seeing three dogs killed and one badly mauled, I just can't imagine.
  6. I hope this is treated with the seriousness it deserves. The woman [allegedly] stole a living breathing creature and, as such, this matter deserves the respect that apparently it is so far being given. So many of these sorts of cases get stupid, supposedly funny and jokey headlines. Makes me angry.
  7. Goodbye, Jack. You gave love and were loved - such a precious life.
  8. Our worries are compounded when there is difficulty diagnosing. I hope you get answers and Sarah can be on her way to good health again.
  9. Deposit is in the mail ............
  10. Westiemum, insist on xrays. This has been Danny's story too. He is now on Losec, Carafate and Metomide but this medication routine seems to be helping. Good luck.
  11. Isn't Stella just that cutest little dog ever. And what is so special, is that Yellowgirl has approved me to have one of her phantom pups. Very excited
  12. Blimey, Canetoad. We'll be seeing you in the credits for the next Australian roadie movie . Just great.
  13. It is always such a loss, but even more so when so yound. Deepest sympathies, Perrin.
  14. I've been thinking quite a bit about this thread, for a few reasons actually. Main reason is that I have four elderly dogs and I am an old rickety bitch :D :D myself. I am sure it is the same with humans as for dogs: you think you are going to last forever, but gradually the wheels start to wobble and bits fall off LOL. Allowing for normal health, once past a certain age, anything can go wrong, so it is best to be prepared. I agree with SAS in that just let your girl tell you what she wants. One of my dogs is, according to his pound records, between 15 and 16 and although he presents at the side gate where all the leads are and from where we set out on our walks, once leashed, he puts the brakes on. So although he hates being apart from me, he is miserable if I take him on our walks. So each time, I just play it by ear. Your girl is looking great, amick.
  15. There is good and bad in everything, but this is one of the good things about social media. Once this horrible attack would have just sunk without trace and the man would have gone on his merry way thinking he was something special and could do what he liked whenever his bad mood was upon him, but now the story has reached all corners of the world and he has been shamed. People will learn that there really is nowhere to hide these days.
  16. I certainly feel sorry for his family and relatives who will no doubt suffer because of this, but I have no sympathy for him.
  17. Great pix, Brandiandwe All the dogs are looking gorgeous. I will see if I can find and put up here the photo of you picking at Benny's corn LOL. I've never used one and only know of them through years of being on DOL, but have you tried a dremel on Benny's nails?
  18. She looks in great condition, sleek and shiny. I hope you have many more happy times together.
  19. Serena pops up in my FB News Feed, so her book has been getting a huge coverage. I still get that grab in the tum when I think of Rocco and the amazing bond he and Ralph had. Beautiful stories seem to be tinged with sorrow, though. Simon seems to be even more laid back that Ralph, if that's possible :)
  20. Anyone prepared to bet that, after a few months, "Gran" will ship him back to the Gold Coast?
  21. I wish we'd known about your stint in hospital, K. We would have rallied the "waiting room" troops. May your recovery be swift and your prognosis excellent. That doesn't mean I want to hear about you practicing the long jump, though. . Your conversations with Penny will continue for a very long time and I hope they give you comfort.
  22. It is amazing how much we agree on, Persephone and I, considering our lives couldn't be much different LOL. As soon as you wrote that her tail was wagging when you looked across at her, amick, I thought the same as Persephone. I follow a horse rescue on FB and they, as you would imagine, get a lot of horses with dreadful lameness and leg problems. They have wonderful results from Rose Hip, but I will go back to their FB site to see what it is they are actually giving the horses. I agree that we need photographs of this wonderful old dame. ETA: It is called Rosehip Vital and it is produced for dogs as well (humans too :) ).
