  1. Too true - easy as after the first time. I cook their rice in it via the absorption method. 1 cup of rice to 2 cups bone broth, cover, bring to boil, turn down to a simmer (keep covered) that will last for about 10 minutes until all the broth is absorbed and rice cooked.
  2. That's how I feel, WM. So nutritious. If Danny drank nothing than that I'd be happy, but with the probiotics, Lactose Free Milk and Royal Canin all mixed into his "shake" I am sure it is all so good. I bought a 10ml syringe and now give him a syringe full or two every couple of hours. He'll be on a diet in no time. :D Go Wobbly Mac. You are one special, strong little boyo.
  3. Oh, Canetoad - what a horrible thing to have happened. I hope you heal very very quickly and can enjoy the time with Jonah. Is Jessie still back in Kal? Must have been pretty emotional and exciting spending time with your daughter.
  4. That is a beautiful photograph, nickyp. Hugs to you and your children and all the other animals. It seems like caring for Emmylou during this time will be a family affair.
  5. Glad it is a success. The one I bought is non skid - perhaps you can put it in a corner where she can't push it around.
  6. Are you still convalescing from your op? If you are, my only suggestion is that you spend a lot of time lying around with Emmylou. Even if it means just putting a mattress on the lounge floor or wherever you watch tv or dvds. She will probably pick up a little now that you are home and spending time with her. She will be getting very tired and will be content just to be able to snooze near you. I hope you are looking after yourself as well.
  7. Yep, kill whatever you like, but don't litter.
  8. Watching Danny like a hawk these days and seeing the slow deterioration into extreme old age, I can certainly relate. Danny is far from the state and stage that your your darling Mac is, and sometimes he is like a puppy, but when I see him falling asleep on his feet and just about toppling over, I am reminded (as if I needed it) that our time together is running out.
  9. Considering pet sitting and dog walking requires no skills or experience I think any course can only be seen as a good thing! How sanguine you are :) Have a look at [**kirty**'s thread - I think it was **kirty**, I'll check]. She is an extremely experienced animal person and still had an event. In another person's hands, this could have been disastrous.
  10. It is a journey we take because we have loved.
  11. If it was in addition to an IRL course, fair enough. To be honest, I was tempted to buy just to see what it was like and what sort of myths they might or might not champion. Or might or might not debunk. :) :)
  12. LOL - WSM. We all need so-called guilty pleasures. I call them health improving pleasures Just thought that one up   I am being so strong for my poor darling and instead of those pleading eyes making me put something more into his bowl, I think of his little food pipes trying to get it into his stomach. He has had just a few very small meals today - one of lactose free milk and bone broth which he brought up twice and licked up twice  . So while the mechanicals were having difficulties, I have to assume that he wasn't feeling sick which is such a relief. We are coming up to afternoon meds and, although he doesn't often throw up in the afternoon, but it does happen from time to time. :crossfingers:

  14. :mad It makes me so made that incompetence (and arrogance) plays fast and loose with people's emotions, not to say time and finances. Poor Jonah, poor you. What was the diagnosis of QVS? I hope your trip to Bris enabled you to catch up with friends and other Pei People.
  15. Brutality writ large by dent of the size of the population.
  16. I printed out the Golden Paste recipe, but haven't come around to making it yet.
  17. The person running with the new dogs must be fit Great photos, Yonjuro. You wouldn't need TV in your household.
  18. There is a FB page on this, mybilly. Can't remember what it is called now, but will have a search. Called Turmeric User Group - started by a Queensland vet.
  19. I looked into this when you suggested it in Danny's thread, Jules, but it was so expensive and I'd spent so much on foods he wouldn't eat, but that was okay because I could give them to the other dogs. By the time I looked at it I had discovered a few things he always eats, otherwise the cost would not have been a consideration. Westiemum - my heart goes out to you. Such a difficult time. I notice the changes in Danny almost daily. But we had a nice little walk this morning. As VM said, I make Danny what I call his Shake. He won't always take it, but what he always laps is Lactose Free Milk. I also buy goodies from BM Animals (with thanks to Valbitz) in Melbourne and the other thing he will always eat is their dried chicken slices - it is like fine chicken jerky and all the dogs LOVE IT So the Shake consists of Lactose Free Milk, Bone Broth, the dried powdered goodies from BM Animals, and Royal Canin canned intestinal. This morning, I also cooked rice in the bone broth (absorption method of course) and he ate a small amount of that mixed in with his Shake. Will Mac take Nutrigel?
