  6. This has popped into my head tonight I have had the munchies all day long and been picking at lots of different things but can't seem to satisfy my need for something, I rarely get the munchies but today I have so far eaten Clinkers (Half a packet) Fruit and Nut Chocolate (Quarter of a large block) Hamburger Rings Pizza Toasted Sandwich Crumpet Roast dinner Icecream Large handful of cashew nuts Anzac Biscuits I think I need worming My dogs rarely annoy us for food, they get their morning meal, a small amount of cheese or kabana on our walks for training then their evening meal but today they must have the munchies as well each time I eat they both come over and paw at me which is really unusual so I wondered Do dogs get the munchies I can try to satisfy my munchies but if a dog has the munchies we are in control of their food so how do they satisfy their craving :D I know mine have today as I actually gave in and let them have some of my munchies but it made me wonder :D And now back to polishing off the rest of the clinkers :D
  7. I have run many bitches together over the years, in all that time we had one fight only between mother and daughter and with strong leadership they bonded back together and ran together for many years to come. Not all bitches can be run together, it depends. Sorry haven't read the whole thread but just wanting to send more healing vibes as it's a horrible situation to go through
  8. Yep the whippets are more built for speed but I am pretty sure there was alot more running before they took that video, my lab and I'm sure many others labs wouldn't puffed out from that small run
  9. Sending positive wishes for Tyson today and hoping they are able to save his leg
  10. Thinking of you Jed, I know you are an incredibly strong person and there is a candle lit here for you with hope and will be lit every night Myt houghts to her family and close friends Thank you for the update, great to hear another animal has survived :D
  11. No hoax Erny the way it slithered definitely wasn't a ribbon ;) it would have been a better picture had I been able to get closer but I was quite a few steps from the snake and stretching my hand as far as it would go because it was very narky Actually now that you mention it maybe it was that really hot spell that have confused the snakes and they have rebred again because this one was not far off from being born, now that you have jogged my memory that might explain it so I am going to be extra careful now out walking cause from what I have read they usually have about 20 - 80 eggs This was in Hoppers Crossing just past the hospital near the University along from the highway
  12. Poor girls hope they are feeling better today
  13. ITS A WORM!!! ;) Sorry its to little to tell, looks like a crack in the concrete too heheheh That was my first reaction too but I can assure you it wasn't I really wasn't game enough to go to close and I don't know how to use the zoom function on my phone camera and tbh I wasn't going any closer because it had attitude but it looked very similiar to the pic of the juvenile tiger that aloysha posted but greyer and the stripes not as clear yet and small in comparison so it musn't be long born Still amazed to see a baby this time of year though
  14. See I am the same I don't let my dogs free run in the areas we walk because they can be snakey but once May comes and it's colder I have always let them off again in the grass to run thinking we were pretty safe, rethinking our plans on where they run now after this incident as we hadn't even got to the track. Haha I actually said to my sister it would be good if it were dead then I would do snake training with it Don't worry Griff I was shaking in fact I think I could have quite easily wet myself had it striked that's why I stood so far away and hung the phone out I prefer not to see them either but normally when I have it has been from about October to February. I knew babies were likely to pack more of a punch than an adult, at least had it been an adult we would have spotted it from far away it just looked like a small bit of branch on the path, now I will be more vigilant in watching the footpaths. I always keep an eye open on the tracks and anything that looks snakey the dogs get called back and put on lead but I wouldn't have even noticed this had it been on the track either.
  15. Okay the photo's aren't that great because I stood a fair way away because I was :D In my photo's the snake actually looks bigger than what it was
  16. Just looking at your photo this snake had the grey and the stripes weren't as pronounced.
  17. Hmm we do have browns in this area too, from what I could see the stripes weren't pronounced on the back but more to the side of it's belly and that coupled with it's size it was definately a baby snake :D
  18. Trying to get pics of now It was less than a foot long but full of attitude I only took a few steps back to look at it and it arked up at me so I quickly retreated a step or two and held my phone out I never mess with snakes but just wanted to get some pics, it slowly slithered into the grass on the side of the footpath but kept it's eye on me. I am just so grateful that none of us actually stepped on it, not sure how 8 paws and 4 feet missed it but thank goodness we did.
  19. Today we were running the dogs along the footpath I had my sunnies on and looking ahead and next thing I know my sister yelled out "We just ran over a snake " and I turned around to see it, a baby tiger obviously it was sunning itself on the warm footpath and as I walked a few steps back just to make sure it was a snake and not a huge worm it put it's head up as if it was going to strike so I backed off very quickly and hung my phone as far possible and took 2 photo's. It had the stripes so I am pretty sure it was a Tiger but I have always gone by the months with R in them are snake times and the wintery months they hibernate and I know our seasons are a bit mixed up but it has been so cold here lately and not many sunny days I have been allowing the dogs to free run along the bike tracks where the grass isn't always so short but today they didn't after seeing that snake, took me about 15 mins to calm down Now the other thing I am really confused about it was definintely a baby and I thought babies hatched in Spring??? Anyone who knows a bit about snakes I would love to hear your responses. Will try to find my cord to get the pictures off later.
  20. +1 +2 And another hug for Jed as well I know they are only cyber hugs but to me there is alot of feeling behind posting an emoticon in these situations.
  21. I dont' know what to say that is too sad Poor Tyson I would have thought the council have the right to enter the property ???? Pockets can you PM me the rough area so I make sure I don't walk my dogs around there cause I don't think I would like to run into these dogs and owners
