    Molly

RIP Molly Moo :D I'm sad to hear of your loss.
  2. What a beautiful soul he looks to be. It's never easy to cope with a bad diagnosis, I hope his health improves after the vet visit. Sending hugs from our furkids to yours
  3. I was a little shy to introduce myself. Sorry You shy , stop it you're making me laugh too hard :p
  4. Try hanging some stockings with Dencorub in them close to the clothes, normally deters them . Also now that the weather is cooler you could try using some overhead door washing hangers as well. ;) My two dogs at present are the only ones who don't bother with my washing
  5. Hi and Welcome, Firstly it could be a combination of what you fed and also stress leaving his home and coming to a new one. It is always best to stick to feeding exactly what he has had from the breeders. Also with any meat it should stay in the fridge while defrosting. If his business is very runny I would suggest you boil some rice and lean chicken breast with no fat on it and feed him this in small amounts. Make sure he is drinking and not getting dehydrated. Keep him on the rice and chicken until his pooh is more solid, if you are at all concerned and he's no better in the morning a trip to the vet would be recommended. Please let us know how he is going and by the way photo's are mandatory as well.
  6. Uh oh Henry just did a big oops Bear and Pearl are in the study sleeping and as soon as I played that video Caroline they both jumped up and barked back to their old friend :D They've now gone down the hallway in pursuit of Henry :D
  7. We had our first hot spot last year and used the Curash and it was great. When I did a search on here and read through a few topics someone (I can't for the life of me remember who though and too lazy to search right now) suggested if your dog is prone to them to give them a zinc tablet in the warmer weather as a preventative so I started this straight away and we haven't had a hot spot since.
  8. Great photo's CTD and thanks for the tip, Bear and I are having our first go at herding there next weekend. MUST remember to walk around with closed legs.
  9. Just tell the lab you have food and watch them run back to you as fast as their legs can carry them. :p
  10. Jodie thanks for the update, was wondering how the magnificient Ollie dog is doing. Sounds like he is still enjoying life to the Max. Yes updated photo's are a must please
  11. I train Bear and Pearl but they are such good dogs that they allow me to think that I try very hard not to find excuses to train, if it is hot then I wait until it is cooler in the day and if it is raining sometimes (it takes alot to work up to) I still take them out and work them in the rain especially the drop as I figure if we get to trial stage and it is wet they have to (even though they don't like it very much ) drop in the wet and look enthusiastic about it We try not to miss classes only for a very good reason (well in my mind anyway) and I figure since they cost me a small fortune the least they could do for me is sit, drop, stay and come.
  12. I use vegemite and yoghurt and freeze them for a little while, keeps them amused and both are fairly healthy options.
  13. We train at 2 different places and both have at least 2 instructors watching the group, groups are kept fairly small in numbers so at the moment I am happy with this. But I would also consider some private training later down the track.
  14. Sags I have just read this, I am so sorry for your loss. I don't come here very often I find it hard to deal with. Sending you hugs to get through this sad time. Joanne.
  15. Yay Congratulations How about you bring him to training on Saturday so we can see it in person
  16. Bear and I are going for this workshop, should be great ;)
  17. RIP Little Angel You touched the hearts of many, you will never be forgotten. Deepest sympathy.
  18. This is so sad and heartwrenching, I just can't seem to find the words.
  19. You can buy the wooden ones from The Warehouse, cost about $22.00 each.
  20. I think there are many people here who are more than suitably qualifed to respond to this post and give good advice, a method that works for your dog is not a sure fire guarantee it will work for another dog. There are many gentle ways of training a dog and positive reinforcement is one of them, at no such time should any harsh methods be used.
  21. Another one is Nervetona and can be purchased from the chemist, have heard good results for this.
  22. Definitely hormones are apart of this, I know you said you are renting but what about a wired run you can take with you when you go, surely the landlord wouldn't mind that, it doesn't have to be a permanent fixture but will keep the dogs safe for the mean time while you are at work.
  23. Just the GSD. Apparently, they are extremely intelligent, well focused, enthusiastic and excellent working dogs. If only someone had told Ebony that. I love her to bits, but I struggle to get her excited - she is very laid back - maybe she caught that from me. When we tried lure coursing, she watched the lure go past, took a few paces after it, realised it was still moving so gave up and trotted off back to the gate to the field. Her recall is at least reasonably enthusuastic - I just need to get her heeling a bit better. Ooops - another essay reply, just as well I don't have more dogs Cheers, DagBoy Hey Isaviz it's the girls too We are raising a bunch of lazy buggers here
  24. How many dogs do you have? 2 Dogs How often do you train etc. Formal obedience once a week Daily in the morning the two are walked together, have a play and a run then work them against each other with distractions. Then of a night time after dinner they are walked separately each for approx 45 mins each and train down at the local creek. Do you find it hard to train all of them? My GSD boy is harder to get motivated for training, he is very laid back. What are their rough ages - ie: are some retired, do you have multiple dogs at trialling level? 15 months and 16 months Do you feel that you have enough time for each dog? It takes alot of work but it will be worth it in the end and each day I make sure I have alone time with the two of them separately. Do you have multiple breeds to train or do you only have the one breed? Any preferences in working style? One GSD boy and a Lab girl.
