Well an update I have been stressing all night because the specialist said we would here whether she came through the anaesthetic by 7pm so when I hadn't heard I rang them at 9.15pm and she still wasn't back and they have just rung me to let me know she is awake and staying in ICU through the night and they will ring in the morning to let me know what time she can come home, I feel so relieved now. They are running a Urine Analysis test and also a Hypo Thyroid Test as well, the specialist said she had been thinking about Pearl all night and was really baffled and her lethargy had her very concerned. Said that her brain is functioning normally and sending the correct signals to the body so it is going to be an elimination process if the MRI doesn't give us any results. Should have them by tomorrow night and I will update then. cavNrott hope sophie had a comfortable day and it is still warm here so hopefully tomorrow she can have her walk when it cools down. Zed thinking of you boy and hoping you had a comfortable day also. Hugs to all the sick rotts and their caring owners

Just wondering if anyone can give me a rough estimate how many litres a day a healthy dog would drink. Thanks.

Nytewynd I don't really know much about Addison's but just wanted to wish Leo well

Try a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in her meal each day, we haven't used any chemical flea control here for the last 5 months and normally fleas are a real problem but since starting the vinegar haven't seen one yet and it's Summer so it much be working.

Thanks Oonga. cavNrott how is Sophie going, I hope she is doing okay and you are enjoying your walks and hopefully this hot weather won't last much longer so she can enjoy going out in the sunshine. Zed still sending lots of wishes for you boy, hope you are doing okay. We are back from the specialist appointment this morning, Pearl will be going in tomorrow morning and staying for the MRI and maybe a brain tap, she has them a bit stumped as two of them went over her and tested her brain function her reflexes are fantastic and the brain is actually sending messages to the body they said normally with brain tumors you can look at the dog straight away and see there is a problem with Pearl apart from being extremely stressed everything has come back normal so far and they said it wouldn't be suprising if the MRI doesn't come back normal but they did explain if there is inflamation there that she is more of a risk with the anaesthetic so until she comes through that I will of course be a bit worried. The only thing they can pick up on is the large vessels in the back of her eyes and they need to find out what is causing this but her vision is perfect so hopefully within the next few days we will have some answers. Sending lots of hugs to all the sick doggies and their owners

Sending lots of healing and calm wishes to all the sick doggies, they are in my thoughts every waking moment. God Bless them all for they are very special I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in this thread, it was originally started for the very sick rotts and you have all been so wonderful including us in here as well, means a heck of alot to me at the time. The people on Dol are just amazing and since joining I have made many wonderful friends here the nicest people on this earth who share a love and passion of animals as I do, we will be here for each other in good and bad times because that's what friends are for. Oonga thank you for popping in to wish us all well, I miss your posts and hope you will return more often soon. Pearl tends to wrap herself around me alot at the moment, she is very confused and doesn't understand why she feels the way she does, she is the funniest dog I have ever owned and even with her illness she stills makes me laugh and smile every day, she is my girl. cavNrott you are doing an amazing job Sophie thanks you for all that you are doing to keep her comfortable. I'm so pleased to hear she is enjoying her walks and may she continue to do that for as long as possible, it is your time together. ZnQ I am sending extra special wishes for you as I know Zed needs it very much. Pearl hasn't had the best of days she was doing so well but is very tired today and her breathing is labouring again, as we don't have a diagnosis yet I can only hope that the juice and supplements are keeping her comfortable, we will be having a quiet weekend here and Bear goes and lays with her when she doesn't seem to be very well, I know he really misses that noirty mischievous girl who he would rumble with all day long and he is looking after his friend and me as well. I hope everyone has a comfortable night ;) ;) ;)

ZnQ How is Zed doing, he is in my thoughts constantly sending him lots of positive vibes cavNrott I hope Sophie's mouth is looking a bit better. Sending lots healing thoughts her way. Bluepoppy I am glad to hear that Kiesha has returned home, it makes it feel more complete once they are back with you. Poor Diesel it is hard for them when their friend goes away. Sending lots of  for all the sick dogs. Pearl is doing okay, playing a little more again but she has become very clingy to me, I had to go out last night and she wrapped herself around my legs like a small child would do to their mum, she was very glad to see me when I got home. She still tires quite easy but she has some spirit back and it is so joyful to see that returning.

Godspeed Bundy -
Gee it's hard to type with those things running down your face after reading that beautiful letter. BP I hope you are doing okay, it takes time and remember a bond that strong can never be broken. cavNrott Pearl has her MRI next Tuesday the 19th so at least then we will know what we are dealing with. For the moment we aren't thinking too much about it just enjoyng each day with my girl, this just feels still too raw after only losing Mr Max not even 3 years ago, I am having weird dreams at night guess it is playing on mind a bit but the days are ours to enjoy the sunshine and smiles. I am sending extra special healing wishes for Sophie and I agree if you feel the lump is looking strange please go back early and get the Oncologist to look at it. Sending Sophie lots of hugs and kisses

Thank you everyone for the hugs and well wishes for Pearl and myself it is so appreciated. She is doing alot better on the natural medicine, it may be masking the problem but there is a definite change in her, she isn't as tired has more energy and wanting to have short play sessions, even playing with Bear again without getting nasty to him she is alot brighter in herself and the last couple of days hasn't been shaking her head much and has a cheeky smile back on her face. We will continue this until we do the MRI next week. cavNrott how is Sophie doing? In your last post you said the tumor seems to be changing, I have everything crossed it is shrinking and changing for the better, please give her a big hug and kiss from us here Any updates on Zed, I hope he is doing well and sending him hugs and kisses too

I was just coming in to update, we only got home about 40 mins ago so it was mad feeding time at the zoo. Thank you all the well wishes, just wish the news was better. We saw the specialist and it is a bit inconclusive but she said in all honesty she didn't feel the prognosis was good After lots of tests she feels she has Hyperviscoscity and we will need to do an MRI to get a final diagnosis whether it be brain tumor or brain inflamation causing this. I have just got off the phone to my vet and we will be organising this tomorrow she will need to go to Werribee University for a preconsultation then I will have to drop her off one morning we think at this stage next week and she will come home the next morning so I won't be able to stay with her the way she is atm I am so worried about her stressing as she won't let me out of her sight. I have decided to increase the natural alternatives for the time being and my vet says he feels she has a fighting chance so I just have to believe him, she is due for her vaccs but isn't allowed to have them before the MRI or the possible reaction if it is brain inflamation so I will have to be careful where I take her. Was hoping for a better prognosis but we ain't giving up yet either. Hope all the other sick dogs have had a good day today

Run Free Kiesha God Bless My condolences to Jeff and Danni A Parting Prayer Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge. Assign her to a place of honor, for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please me. Bless the hands that send her to you, for they are doing so in love and compassion, freeing her from pain and suffering. Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss. Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me. And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others. Let her remember me as well and let her know that I will always love her. And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, please allow her to accompany those who will bring me home. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together. And thank you, Lord, for granting me the strength to give her to you now. Amen.

sorry i've been away showing for the weekend and only just had a chance to catch up we brought bonnie as a five mth old pup 11yrs ago now(only feels like 3yrs) she has given us three beautiful litters got her ch and endurance title and always been very fit and healthy when she was six she had her last litter by c-section and within a few months she had lumps coming up on her belly they weren't in the mammary glands but some laid done the centre and some quite close to her boobs of the the vets and biopsy done was told it wasn't a quick killing cancer but extremely fast growing one so had a GA and had them all removed after the fist op bonnie was like a young pup again so full of life and so much happier then she was before the op but within 4 weeks they were coming back by 6 weeks they were size of golf balls back to the vets and the vets wanted to try radiation to try and shrink them as they said from the lab test on the first lot the removed all the cancer and if the came back so quickly opener her up again would be pointless as they would probably be back again within weeks i was unsure what way to go and even though it wasn't mammary cancer i wanted her de-sexed and all mammary tissue removed anyway so of to the specialist and radiation began lumps didn't seem to shrink but more started coming up but they were only pea sized lumps coming up at one stage she got really sick and wouldn't eat and looked like she was dying so off to the vets and low and behold she has pyometra so had to be de-sexed on the spot and was told her chances were very slim of pulling through another op(we are now 10 and half yrs)even though i was told i would be lucky to have 6 mths and had got nearly four yrs i still wasn't prepared for losing her i ask that they remove the lumps that where there while she was under and all mammary tissue as well after a week i was able to pick her up from the vets(longest week of my life) and was told she also now has skin cancer on her belly as well so now we are fighting two different cancers that was six months ago and once she recovered from the op she was like a new girl again but over the last month she has not been doing to well and each day is a huge bonus there are probably things i have left out but with tears streaming down my face it is hard to think thank you all for the hugs and well wishes and for everyone with sick babies our thoughts and prays are with you and a huge big cuddle from me dfa Sending lots of hugs to your girl, she sounds like a beautiful soul and I wish whatever time you have together is pain free for her

I am so glad to hear the beautiful Sophie is doing well :D

BP I am so sorry to hear about Kiesha :D Sending lots of positive thoughts that she is much better in the morning. I also use Vitamin C and Noni Juice for the immune system, it seemed to help my boy when we started some of the alternatives. I hope Kiesha has a restful night :D ;) :p Don't ever give up hope, my saying was "It ain't over till the fat lady sings and I will do everything in my power to stop her from uttering a sound", I would say that every morning and believe that every moment we had together was a true blessing, as hard as it gets sometimes you have to have faith. I hope when I check back in the morning she had a good night.

We are seeing a specialist on Thursday so just taking one day at a time, thanks for asking Oonga No worries i know Pearly is not a Rotty, and i truly hope that none of the owners here will mind, but do you think you could post in here the results? I don't see a lot of things in the GSD thread and would like to know Pearl's results. As long as the other owners are happy for me to do that I don't want to invade their privacy knowing what they are going through themselves, otherwise I will pop it in the main rottie thread I pop in here each day just to see how everyone is going and hope they have had good days, each day when I was going through Osteosarcoma was a blessing for me and Mr Max.

Thought I would post this website Bevan was a great help to me while I was going through Osteosarcoma with my mal, in fact I bought some of the natural alternatives from this site and it did give him a better quality of life. My friend used the salve and the Graviola on her rott, he made another 2 years although his prognosis was to take him and make him comfortable anyway the site is worth a read. http://health.centreforce.com/
