  1. I would be happy to take my dogs out to a meet and greet area but am not prepared to put up with the pushing hordes in the ordinary pavilions. :D Glad I am not the only one Oakway. I actually think there are quite a few of us doing one and not the other.
  2. I didn't enter Hobart Royal this year and one reason was because our breed was on People's day and I am so over spending the day watching wall to wall bogans pushing through the dog pavilions and being abused if I ask people not to touch my dogs. And over being too scared to leave the dogs for a nanosecond and worrying that when I come back to the benches with them after being judged that things will have been stolen. Until security among other things improves I won't be entering for the forseeable future. :D Edited to add, I much prefer Launceston Royal where you can take your car and trailer on to the grounds, can set up gazebos so you and your friends can watch out for each other more easily and where you are not crammed into an inadequate indoor space.
  3. I don't allow visitors for the first three weeks so the bitch has peace and quiet and doesn't get stressed. After that I encourage visitors although they have to remove their shoes and wash their hands before going near the puppies. Good luck in your search for a new puppy.
  4. Hate spiders!! Especially big furry ones. I spray them or swat them with a fly swatter!! Can't bear them inside, sorry!! They make me feel physically ill!!
  5. Scumbag!!!! May he rot in hell. Run free at the Bridge poor little dog!! You didn't deserve that!!
  6. What a horrible thing to happen. Hope your boy is soon home and that there is no infection!!
  7. Definitely not the same puppies...colours are wrong!!
  8. And of course they would be really easy to 'save' in that fast current!! NOT!! I don't buy it!!
  9. Jed I don't think Dell have very good after sales follow up. You need to buy from a place that will be available to provide help if you need it. I got mine from a small company that built the laptop to my specifications and I can take it in any weekday for a service or if there is a problem. There must be people like that up in your neck of the woods?? Good luck with it whatever you decide. Glad to hear you are continuing to improve!! Hope you get to see your dogs in the not too distant future!!
  10. I didn't think it was good showing anything weather...that's why I stayed home. Hope Neo is ok soon Allerzeit!! :D
  11. I have several of Ellz's Heartstrings leads. They are awesome!! Guess if you ain't coming north, I will have to occasionally venture south allerzeit!!
  12. I've decided not to go. Weather forecast put me off. Don't fancy a 7 hour return drive in the wet!! I haven't entered Hobart Royal Allerzeit....too expensive and no parking and we're on people's day so wall to wall bogans...so decided not to come this year. I really don't enjoy it. Might see you at Dogfest. Will you be coming to any northern shows??
  13. Gimmick, one of my flatcoat boys is totally distracted by rabbits at the moment!!
  14. I saw the video yesterday and it chilled my blood. Those poor babies crying in the bucket and her callous laughing as she hurls them into the river. Poor excuses for human beings!! I hope they get karma soon!! They deserve to be found out and publicly humiliated IMHO!! And then dealt with by the law. I thought the fact that she kept her hoodie up showed she knew what she was doing was dreadfully wrong!! RIP poor babies!!
  15. Great pics escpecially the last one!! :D
  16. I am entered but not sure if I will get there yet...OH has the flu and I don't want to leave him with 6 dogs to look after while I head south. Will have to wait and see how he is. He has had it for 3 weeks now. If I get there I am the one with flatcoats.
  17. While this wouldn't have fixed your problem Hogwartz, I think the biggest problem is that the airlines treat live animals the same as ordinary freight and if the flight is full, they can get left behind. I had a big fight with Virgin Blue (the only airline out of Launceston that takes animals), in December last year as I was flying a puppy freight from Launceston to Perth. I booked via Dogtainers. I had him booked on the 6.30 am flight out of Launceston so he could connect with the 9.25 am from Melbourne to Perth and should have arrived there late morning their time. I had to leave home at 3.30 am to get him to the airport by 5am as he had to be there 90 minutes before the flight and I had to drive there. He left Launceston all right and was then left in Melbourne all day as the earlier flight was too full for freight. Dogtainers took him to their depot to feed, water and toilet him but I was really angry and upset that the airline had done that to him!! I took it up with Dogtainers who basically said that they had no control over it so I then wrote to Virgin Blue suggesting they needed to change their freight policy!! They must have known the 9.25 flight was full and if they had told me I would have kept him here until there was a flight he could travel on. The poor little mite ended up arriving in Perth at 7pm their time which was 10pm our time. Given that he was on the road by 3.30am that was a bloody long and traumatic day for the puppy, for me and the puppy buyers waiting in Perth as they had been told by Dogtainers he was arriving on the earlier flight and once they had driven to the airport were then told he was arriving that evening. Live freight is not the same as other freight and should not be treated as such!! Of course Virgin Blue has not changed its freight policy and I hesitate to kick up too much of a stink as if they say no to live animals I have no way of getting puppies to the mainland by air. It just isn't good enough!!
  18. We have made provisions for all of ours in our wills.
  19. I hope they lock him up for ever!! Scumbag!! Or better still, I agree, do the same to him!!
  20. Thanks Harminee for a much better look at the boxer babies!! Very sweet!! Keep healing Jed!!!
  21. Two more lit from here. Lots of positive vibes sent with them.
  22. I imported from Sweden last year. I didn't need a vet certificate to get the permit, I just applied for it from AQIS. You will need the microchip number and name and address details. I booked my puppy in with an approximate time as I wanted him to be in Melbourne so we could visit. Once I knew flight details, the booking was confirmed. AQIS are really helpful. The import permit lists all the tests and the completed forms have to travel here with the puppy. The breeder might be better off working with one of the animal transport places over there if he/she hasn't done it before. Once the import permit landed in my inbox I forwarded it to the breeder as the bulk of the work has to be done there. Good luck.
  23. I'm old and married too!! Only noticed the boxer babies until the swooning started....he is easy on the eyes though!! Glad to hear you have 'good healing' Jed. May it continue to be good and hopefully quick or quick-ish!!
  24. You can actually send it back to Liberty to fix. I dropped mine earlier this year. I talked to Liberty and sent it back to them and they sent it back good as new. Postage wasn't too bad either.
