Five years is too short. He should never be allowed to own another animal!!! With animal cruelty I don't think you should get a second chance to hurt another animal!!

There are times when I am ashamed to be human. If this isn't torture, what is?? Poor dog!!

Sorry to keep harping on but no flatcoat breeder that I know refers to their liver puppies as chocolate. The breed standard calls them liver and that is what they are.
-
Coat colour inheritance in flatcoats is the same as in labradors. Fewer yellows are seen because it is not a recognised colour and yellow flatcoats are not usually bred with as they cannot be on the main register. The liver colour is meant to be a dark liver. A wishy washy liver colour is not what the standard requires. Sunlight can however lighten liver coats especially their ears and furnishings.

I think people should be named so that everyone who knows them understands what scumbags they are. A long gaol sentence should be automatic for animal cruelty!!
-
There is no such thing as a chocolate flatcoat. The correct term as per the breed standard is liver. I always advise people looking for flatcoats to contact the Flatcoated Retriever Association of Victoria as they have a list of reputable breeders and know who has puppies available. You need to be prepared to wait for a puppy from a reputable breeder as most only breed a litter when they are keeping a puppy for themselves. I hope you find what you are looking for.

There is a very reputable breeder in Southern Tas. If you rang the TCA 03 62729443, they would give you contact details. Distance isn't a problem. I have sent flatcoat puppies to Queensland without any problems. I also think this arrangement is very one sided. Good luck in your search. Edited to fix spelling mistake.
