  1. Thanks Rajacadoo, we and the breeders are thrilled!
  2. Love the photo!!! Your angle definately shows Bree off better than the ones taken. Cheers for that
  3. Hi All I'm here at last Yes we had a great day! Bree won RUIG which was fantastic but she also qualified for her GRAND!!!! We are absolutely thrilled! PD888 those photos of Roger look great. You may post your photo up and do you mind sending me a copy? Ellz has my addie Sorry I didn't get to meet you. I did look around to find where you all were but I obviously didn't look hard enough I had a bottle of champers I was dieing to pop!!
  4. I got some of those traps the other night. We caught one but it only caught it's snout. Had to let it go The trap was reset and it did the job properly though don't know whether it was the same mouse or not. Had to go out today and buy some new containers to put rice and Bonios in. The little mites are such a pain. Mind you one of the traps, the mouse would have to do a rap dance on to make it trip
  5. Does the trap kill them? And if not how do they dispose of them?
  6. We are being invaded by mice and am thinking about getting a Sonicguard mice repeller but I can't find any info if it is going to affect the dogs. Does anyone know? Cheers
  7. And I only met Huganewf because a not so quiet voice was yelling "Hounder" to get my attention. It took a few times before I clicked that Ellz was yelling at me
  8. It was a nice weekend and nice to meet you huganewf
  9. Maybe it would be better crating Daphne rather than Grover. JMO Let's hope he stays on the mend this time. These beautiful hounds certainly put us through the ringer when something goes wrong.
  10. Trish, I have only just logged on to DOL and am so sorry to hear your news. I am also relieved that he seems to be improving. Please know that you, Steve and especially Grover are in our thoughts. We wish him a speedy and full recovery. One of the most frustrating things is when the vets can't give a definitive answer. When Bree collapsed as a pup, she nearly died from an extreme temperature and had to have a laparotomy to bring her core temp down. They could give no reason for her high temp and the only thing we could think of was a reaction to an insect bite. Hugs to you all Sam
  11. We got one of those but Bree freaks out at the noise
  12. Hi all Was just wondering if anyone has used the above product and what are your thoughts? OH and I both have failing eyesight and won't clip nails in fear of cutting the quick. These clippers have a sensor to detect if you are going to cut the quick or not. The reviews I have read are mixed but tend to the negative but not sure if that may be to user error or faulty/misguiding product. Quick Finder Deluxe
  13. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind ;)
  14. I am taking Bree to a chiropractor to help her get over some injuries she has sustained and she recommended giving her celery seed tablets as an anti-inflammatory rather than the costly vet pain killers. Has anyone used them before and what dosage would you use? I bought 3000mg tabs and Bree is roughly 40kg Cheers
  15. What a fantastic idea Sway Like Fifi said, the ANKC should have done this many years ago Brollachan - Deerhounds and my sisters is Randalltor - Cavaliers Cheers
  16. One of our Deerhounds does this. Stress can exacerbate it. When she did it we used to rub under her throat ot open her mouth to make her yawn which can be hard as their muscles are rigid. Normally now we ignore as it does go away. Our Vet said that the worst thing that could happen would be that they would lose consciousness which would correct the problem instantaneously. Luckily this has never happened.
  17. So how did training go yesterday? I hope all went well
  18. I might have to go in and have a look....they sound great! It might be a stupid question, but how do you know what butcher's put in their pet mince? Do you just ask? I look at it sometimes and it seems really fatty? Or is that just because it has bone minced in too? The beef can be a little fatty but not over, I don't think. Besides they do need a little fat. They mince up bone in it as well so they get calcium as well. They go and shoot there own Roos (I think) They mince, bag and freeze so it is fresh. I tend to order mine so I get unfrozen otherwise I can't fit it in the freezer. The rabbit is extremely lean and they do sell Roo without beef for a leaner meat. They used to sell lamb as well which the dogs loved but it became too hard to get so they rarely have it. They also sell roo tails, chicken carcasses, chicken necks, cold cooked chickens, rabbit carcasses, variety of diced or minced meats, some kibble, toys, collars and leads. I need to ask for a spotters fee
  19. The Pet Meat Mart sells rabbit meat for $3.30 for 500g and for $3.00 if you buy 10. My guys go spare when they get rabbit, they just love it.
  20. I got charged $200 for a bag of saline for a drip for a 6 week old puppy, that was on it for about 8 hours  I was told up front that was the cost regardless. Different vet to the one I use now tho :/ You sure that is was just saline and not a bag of Hartmans? or something? Hartmans has platlets and nutrients in it as well. $200 is definately outrageous if only saline.
  21. I get our meat from The Pet Meat Mart in Glenorchy, opposite Hungry Jacks. They sell a huge range of different meats and cuts and they are very nice guys. They also sell Advance and a few other brands but since I buy Bonnie I haven't checked out the others. Animal Tuckerbox used to sell Bonnie but apparently had a disagreement eith them so they don't stock it anymore.
  22. We only got pain relief for Xena because we know she is a licker. Should also mention that the vet did sub-cut stitches to lessen the chance of her chewing them out. When Bree and Lockie both had to have emergency laporotomies (sp) neither of them had take home pain relief. I can't believe how much they charge for a ?$5 bag of saline
  23. The Kennel Club Standard states: Tail (Stern): Of medium length; set on high, strong at the base, tapering regularly, well furnished with hair; carried proudly like the blade of a sabre. Whether the judge feels the lump or not it should be taken into consideration of the whole dog as to how serious the fault is. If the tail does what it says in the standard I doubt you would be non awarded.
