We clip a LOT of BC's at work. We try to keep them a decent length, but some do go back to almost nothing. Some grow back fine, others dont, but I would say its pretty rare. Clipping the coat off should technically not alter the hair regrowth in any way, but experience tells me this is not true.

This morning I got up to find that Sarah has passed away overnight. It was a bit of a shock, she was not old by comparison to the others, just 8 years old. 2003 - 2012 RIP Chickee, run free at the bridge, your best bud will join you one day. Give your dad a cuddle for me too.

If you have destructive dogs then DONT use an old doona! Did that once. I gave the doona to the non destructive dog, but of course the naughty one pulled it through from their side and when I opened the door it practically snowed feathers. I often only have carpet down, I dont find I NEED padded bedding, they just destroy it.

The committee will put a ring plan up here http://ozentries.com.au/news/ringplans.html when they have worked out the logisitcs. The grounds will be soggy but not under water. We've had PLENTY of rain here, but because its hilly, it drains away pretty well. But expect mud by the end of the first show!

I started out free stacking Keeshonds and when I got into show the Amstaffs I thought, yep I will teach these guys to free stack. But despite my best efforts, I just cant do it. Their food drive is WAY too strong for them to be able to hold a stack at the prospect of food. I am yet to achieve it. Give me a Keeshond any day! I much prefer showing them!

I find I either have to crate them beside each other, or have the dog totally away from the bitch. My dogs are not as sensible as your boy sounds though!

I wonder why you would try to "change" the Show Pomeranian, when you could go and have German Spitz (Klein) or (Mittel) which is essentially what you seem to have there. And you would not have to change the breed to what you think they should be nowdays. Maybe they would not sell to you either. Do you show your dogs dog geek?

I'd highly recommend doing the 12 week vaccination. After that you are free to do as you please, but if you dont vaccinate for parvo you are asking for heartbreak!

I've found Plush Puppy Revivacoat, mixed with water into a spray bottle, great for adding volume. I've been using Isle of Dogs Stand Up shampoo - awesome.

Idiopathic Epilepsy can only be diagnosed by autopsy. All a vet can do is rule out every other possible cause of seizures. To me this sounds like a clear case of idiopathic epilepsy and testing is probably irrelevant, and not likely to reveal anything at all wrong. All you can do it hope that the gene has missed your girl, and if not, hope that medication works. Idiopathic Epilespy occurs in Keeshonds, but it is very late onset (generally old age) so that dogs are passed their breeding age before displaying symptoms. We are hoping to be able to get a DNA test soon.
