Does Anyone Purchase Flea/tick Products Online?
Rysup replied to SarasMum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I bought my last lot thru PricelessPets and they were great!! Great price, and I had them 2 days later! -
I find its just something that puppies get. He "should" grow out of it once he is in his adult coat. Unless of course there is infection in that ear, or mites or something, that he is specifically scratching at.

Yes poodlemum, father and son

They are beautiful Maddy. So many different opinions!

Yep ring and make an appointment. Berkshire Park - Londonderry, Llandillo way. Not that far, depending on where you are.

Peter Schofield 45740894 He is in Berkshire Park. He is VERY good. A life saver in my case

I used Peter Schofield Lynlovesdogs. I dont have his phone number at the moment, but can get it for you. He was charging around $20 a visit when I was seeing him, but not sure of his current fees. Yes its better to catch it early. ETA - he has moved, I am getting his contact for you!!

I had a Keeshond bitch who, when I came home one day, was in the lounge room, paralysed, screaming in agony. Vet could find nothing. So we took her to a chiropractor/muscle manipulator. He eased her enormous pain almost instantly, and over the space of around 8-12 weeks, he got her back up and walking again. It was a LONG haul for both of us, I had to carry her out to the toilet, using a towel under her tummy, and I eventually had to clip her trousers off, as they just got too messy. She had pinched a major nerve somewhere, and without my muscle man, I am sure should would have had to be PTS. She was around 6 when this happened. She went on to live till 12 years old. She never carried her tail over her back again, but that mattered not at all. She was able to get around without too much trouble. Press gently on either side of her spine, all the way from her head to her tail, and watch for ANY sign of flinching, or pain. I suspect it could be something similar to Jessie had. Good luck!

I dont feed offal so its not a problem.

As my guys were hand raised, I just started putting their Wombaroo Milk into a bowl, and they very quickly weaned themselves. I just add shallow bowls of milk & water as soon as they can see. I've found Wombaroo to be an excellent milk replacer, and they LOVE it. I know some breeders dont give milk, but I like to!

We have Fido's and I am pretty sure we ordered them direct from the company? I think? lol I cant remember now!

I have one of those, and I have outgrown it really fast. I want something I can play around with more. This camera of mine does not handle any sort of macro or close up work, it blurs the subject and focuses on the background. And it seems to be "lighter" than when I first got it, like there is glare or something going on.

Thanks Kharn! Wondered about that.

I also use a comb like this http://www.itsadogshop.com/prod781.htm the Medium one at top. And I have one of these for if they get knots behind the ears, I dont have to use it much, but it comes in handy http://www.itsadogshop.com/prod1120.htm Oh and the longer the pins the better on your rake.

Gosh its so old I am not sure what brand it is. Let me have a look online and see if I can see one similar..... OK I would go something like this http://www.clipperworld.com.au/shop/index....p;productId=373 but I think mine is more like this one http://www.clipperworld.com.au/shop/index....p;productId=378 Both should work well.

Maybe try it? If you dont like it, or she does not like it, you dont have to do it again.
-
To do a shorter clip without taking all the hair off, you will need to make sure she is thoroughly groomed through before the clip, and then the groomer can use a comb to do it at a longer length, to give her more sun protection. Just realise too, that it may not start to grow back until the time of year she would normally blow her coat. Some dogs thats only once a year.
-
Does she spend a lot of time outside in the sun? You have to remember she will burn more easily. While we can all say, no dont do it, sometimes it comes to a point where you HAVE to. I groomed a Kees like that. His coat just grew and grew and grew until he was a big huge ball on legs. In the end the owners opted to clip him back, and he was a different dog. I dont know if they kept it up, as we lost contact. Most coats will grow back fine, but you will probably find you have to have your BC done annually once you start. I have done a BC who did not grow back very well at all, so they had to keep him short all year. He was a bit patchy, but he was also quite old, so it was not that big a deal. Only you can decide.........good luck!

Helen - mostly dogs, puppies, and of course my son. I like taking photos of the dogs for my website, but my old camera just seems to be failing me these days. Kharn - how long would they last? Would they last a whole day ,taking photos all day? Do you have spares you carry with you? At least with cameras who take AA, you can always pick up spare batteries. Nothing worse than running out before you are done. Like I normally photograph our specialty shows, which means most of the day. Purple Julie - thanks for that. I will go and have a look at the SLRs in the camera shop I think.
-
Weimlover, get yourself a good rake. Some undercoats will go very gunky at this time of year, and you will need to strip it out. Some lines will just blow it, but some lines tend to hang on to it like glue. I find the rake so valuable in getting it out. I also use a fine tooth comb on the sides of my Kees all year round, to help keep it to a minimum. Only place I wont use the comb is on the mane behind the neck because that will strip too much out for the ring. But if you dont mind a flat mane, you can strip that too. Edited coz I typed too fast!
-
You are probably right, though not sure we can afford to go that high. Would I be better getting a cheaper SLR or an expensive compact? Who'd have thought it would be so hard to pick!! Also what do people prefer - AA batteries or the ones that can only be recharged?
-
Thanks guys, we have been keeping busy, stops me thinking about it. Not fun loosing them when they are young.
-
oh sarzc that first photo is gorgeous!!! Hmmmm more food for thought. I have actually decided maybe a SLR is a bit over the top, and a high end compact would probably do everything I want it to do.

Would he drink milk? Wambaroo is 40% fat and my puppies love it, don't see why an adult wouldnt. -
Paracetemol is not good for dogs - give only aspirin and only in small doses (like 1/4-1/2 a tablet for a 15kg dog)
