  1. You may have trouble if they want to get nasty - once a deposit is taken you are required to sell them the puppy. A friend of mine took a deposit, then changed her mind about the home. But the lady wanted to get nasty, went to Fair Trading and my friend was advised to just sell her the puppy. Funnily enough a few weeks later the dog was back as it didnt fit in!
  2. I use them as treats, always have a box of them here, though I use the 2x2's as I have some smaller dogs.
  3. I have three dogs to bath, and between them it will take me about 2 1/2 hours if I am lucky. And have to be at South Windsor at 2.......so my time is limited! LOL
  4. Have fun guys, I will be washing dogs at 10am for tonights show
  5. Where can I buy a bag to try in Sydney?
  6. Yeah the Aeroguard should be fine for today, until you can get something else.
  7. The human stuff will work - we used a lot of Roll on Aeroguard here.
  8. Gawd, Im sitting here crying. That's so beautiful Bindi~Boo. I think about my heart dog Belle all the time, and she has been gone almost 9 years. And then our recent losses of two young girls, both taken by cars.........so I sit here in tears. Hugs from me!
  9. I have just switched from Eagle Pack Hollistic to Artemis, too soon to judge the results. But I moved from Eagle Pack because my boy was starving on it. He lost weight and coat condition on it. He is wheat intolerant, so finding a food that works for him is hard work. I would move him to BARF but I dont have the time, nor do I want all my dogs on it, and they would drive me nuts if I just put one dog on it My other dogs do well on Coprice and also Uncle Albers/Great Barko. I alternate a bit between the three.

    Parvo Or Not?

Minky, I would not be vaccinating your Tibbies until they are at least 8 weeks old, and possibly older. Esp given that so many have died from the early vaccs.
  11. My dog has been doing very poorly on Eagle Pack, and I have just changed him over to Artemis. He LOVES it which is a huge plus.
  12. I find an anti-fungal cream (from the chemist) great for skin flare ups.
  13. I baby gated my guys into certain parts of the house, and they were only allowed near the baby when they were calm, relaxed and of course under supervision. But I found they had no trouble adjusting. We did do the baby gate thing before baby was born, so they had heaps of time to get used to it.
  14. I know a few dogs who have lost all their hair at the site of application. Sorry to hear about your dogs reaction - stick up for your rights with the company though!
  15. Yeah ditch the Frontline. My vet gave me tablets for my boy when he got a bad itch going, but I cannot remember what they were now.
  16. I just change mine when I think its getting too dirty. Which is pretty dirty because the instant they start using it, its muddy. LOL I dont mind a bit of mud in it. Or I will empty it when we have a show coming up and I dont want him swimming!
  17. My guys do that when they are testing each others pee........girls or boys regardless. Not sure its the same thing though!
  18. I never used combs. If an owner wanted a longer clip then I would do it by hand. The longest blade I had was a #5.
  19. Icemist - yes they do allow and register the puppies once DNA testing has proven which sire is the daddy.
  20. Ive cremated most of mine. Rather be able to take them with me when I move.
  21. Years ago one of my dogs got a serious eye injury and had to be treated at the Emergency Vets. They sent me home much poorer and with a load of creams and drops, and later I realised they were ALL out of date. I used them, but I also got a refund for them!!
  22. I think its a risk you take at any age. I know quite a few dogs that have died at a young age whilst under for hip scoring. But having said that, I am putting off having my old boy (14) put under to have a fatty cyst removed. It does not bother him so I dont think I will worry about it just yet.
  23. So he is about 7 months? He is still a puppy, and you cannot expect things you taught him very early on to be remembered without continuous practice. That includes toilet training. Basic commands and walking on a loose lead. To stop him going on the pebbled area you need to catch him doing it there, and move him to the spot you want him to go and praise, praise, praise. To me it sounds like he is just playing with the cat, and when he barks at you he wants you to play too. You need to keep the training up, maybe classes would be a good idea. Puppy pre-school gives you the tools, but you need to keep at it. Puppies need a lot more work than puppy pre-school can give them.
