  1. I am horrifed and disturbed that you would have heard them screaming
  2. Rebus for sure, he looks like a Rebus
  3. I live with chronic pain and can have bouts of depression because of this, my dogs make me smile and when I lay on the couch(apparently we were never going to let the dogs on the couch) with them they calm me down and I feel relaxed. They make me smile and laugh with their funny quirks and they are just a huge huge part of my family. Just to add what a lovely thread.
  4. I love my mutts and Staffy but My wishlist is: Irish Wolfhound Greyhound Deer hound French Bulldog British Bulldog Great Dane Chinese Crested!

  8. This is turning into a sympathy thread Oh well there is worse things she could be doing...... I have tried to distract her but she does honestly get a glazed frantic look and won't stop. She is more responsive to ceasing licking humans but poor Murdock doesn;t catch a break.
  9. Yeah I agree it is like OCD or it is almost like she just cannot contain herself and this is her outlet. Poor Moo Moo we love her anyway, we have many 'special' pets so she is just added to the mix.
  10. I own a gorgeous little Staffy that was actually a foster failure, she went to a new home and I was devastated and then she was returned 10 months later, definitely my gain I was so happy. Anyway when she is excited she licks like a maniac, she will lick my other dog Murdock for ages, his ears and face, she licks my older dog Kenzie but not so much. She tries to lick hands all the time and is really a nutbag when she does it. Any thoughts?????????
  11. The lump is going down, I will still take her to the vets I think
  12. I have a Staffy girl that is going to be 2 in April. When we snuggled on the couch 3 days ago I felt a lump on her right shoulder, I thought she may have knocked it and it would go down but it hasn't, in fact it has got larger. I of course will take her to the vets but just wondering what you guys think. I cannot feel the whole mass if that makes sense, I cannot get my fingers around it under the skin.....anyway just thought I would throw it out there

  19. That's ok. I getcha. You're feeling down-hearted at the moment. It will pass, and the more so if you look at your leadership activities as 'fun'. Take what they do (ie observation of the 'rules' and 'boundaries') and rejoice in the fact that they observe them. I mean, how clever are THEY !! And how clever are YOU that you can send signals in a manner they can understand!! . Use "TOT" (if you don't already) and turn it into a full-blown training regime (as each of them get better at it). I love meal times. I'm now at a point where the meal is in one room but I call my boy out and we do a short training regime (whether that be responsive sits, drops, heel, recall or whatever) before I release him with his release command to his meal. Gosh - if I was still doing the "you must look at me to get released to your meal" it would be very boring by now. Yet when he was a pup, I rejoiced at the fact he would do this one small thing. Expand on what your dogs know. Get them to do more. As I said - make it so that it is interesting for you and I bet you'll find your dogs will find it interesting and mind expanding too. Ok - back to the "Chopper problem". See if you can check out if he has a stronger attachment to one or other of the dogs and let's see if we can work from there. Over the net, this will be limited, but maybe we can help you to a certain at least part way manageable degree, even if it isn't the whole solution. Ruthless, I know the feeling of 'where is all the fun', I have it sometimes with one of my dogs, she has issues and sometimes it is really hard to deal with. I know how much you love your dogs but you are allowed to feel let down and disappointed sometimes. Erny, I have really enjoyed reading your posts, very interesting reading.
  20. I have no advice for you Ruth. I am so sorry this has happened. Poor Chopper and poor you. Take care
  21. What a beautiful addition to your family, she is absolutely stunning. Good on you Mum :p
