  1. 1 dog rural area. This year could be the year I add a puppy to the family!
  2. Hey that wasn't me was it!!! people always avoided us out walking, not so much now because I've only got the Rott and she slowly walks along side of me now (old age!) Agree with why can't some people keep their mouth shut if they can't say something nice
  3. A few years ago we moved to our 2 1/2 acre block and all I did was keep a close eye on her to make sure she didn't wander off, eventually we built a fence for the back garden and I'd shut the gate when I went out but now I don't shut the gate anymore and she just hangs around. When I drive down the track I can see her sitting on the front steps waiting. It does depend on the personality of the dog though, a previous dog I had years ago would never hang around Oh and something else before I go, our neighbors have 3 dogs and they all seem to hang around their place too! Often they meet up in my horse paddock and have a play and then go their separate ways home again but thats as far as they go.
  4. Wow what a cutie, love the new collar and lead set
  5. I have a Ford Fairmont station wagon and a Territory. Much prefer to use the Fairmont station wagon to cart my dog around in because it's a lot lower to the ground and easier for her to jump up into. I also fold the back seat down so she can 'ride up front'! so to speak.
  6. May not be anything though but worth a check, my girl walks the same way (like a pacer) always has and vets have never found anything wrong with her (she's 9). He's gorgeous by the way.
  7. Go Atlas It's amazing how they (dogs) just know when to react. We had a situation here a month ago and Gypsy went off like I've never seen, this fella kept yelling at her which made her more protective, he too asked me if she bit and I said she'll take your effin hand off if you don't back off, not that she would (but you never know ) fella soon took off into the darkness haven't seen him since. (never seen him in my life and was drunk) Hope the nerves are starting to settle Fran.......bloody awful situation for you to have been in
  8. What Do You Wish You Knew Before You Got Your Dog? -How wonderful my dog would become over the years.......
  9. I'd love to make the trip across but we're off to a wedding that wkd........ I love pet expo!
  10. Maybe he's never had to pay bail before on one/both of his dogs? I'd probably tell him how much it would cost him if they got caught by the ranger (maybe add abit extra for good measure ) Good luck with the photo shoot! and owner......... I guess some people think owning a dog is letting them do what the like
  11. I have always treated/trained my dogs big or small the same. There is nothing cute about a dog jumping all over you, big or small. Whatever the size they are all dogs.

RIP Evie *deelee- I bet she's up there playing with my Tyson, the other crazy Staff! It took me afew (4) years to make the tough decision of giving him his wings.... They will always be remembered and as time moves on the pain eases. Thoughts are with you and your family.
